isn't it supposed to be just a bolt and lever blade material difference between T4 and A4? that is what i knew.. uuh yeah it would've been lovely to have a couple more brakes in that test, Radic Kaha, Intend Trinity ( just the hose and bleeding tech features make me 🤤 ) Trickstuff Direttissima, and why not even the chinese copy Lewis LH4 and Ultimates

You're right, they are identical except the Ti bolts and carbon levers. I must have confused it for the T2. Yes the Trinity are by far the easiest brake to bleed perfectly. Two cycles of fluid through the dry system and it was rock solid. It took more time watching the explanation video on YouTube.

Interesting how they decided to use the less powerful Dominion T4 instead of the A4 in the new test. The A4s have been really popular out west due to the light lever pull and overall power. I've seen a video of a heavy adaptive bike (~100lb) doing a stoppie using them. Also wish they included the Intend Trinity in there...

Very interesting article. However I wonder how reach adjustment on the lever would affect the results. I guess the rate by which it changes the leverage ratio at the lever is not consistent across brakes (if indeed reach does affect it, I am not sure). I would have also liked to see also the result of just how much force can be applied at the rotor surface at nth increments of lever pull. I guess this could be calculated just based on the geometry of the components, but maybe materials and construction could play a role. This would have also...

My quick thoughts on two of the brakes tested by Enduro. For context, I am lucky enough to own and ride a fleet of 5 bikes consistently; from DH to XC Formula Cura 4: been running these since 2019 on my Trail and XC bikes. Getting a good bleed is paramount to good performance. Sintered pads definitely add extra bite, which I prefer. They require a bleed every couple months to avoid a soft lever feel. What's the point of that? We're not after a caliper test, the pads and rotors that come with it is much relevant as most people buy brakes as a system first. I do think a rotor test with 1-2 calipers would be good. And potentially a pad test. But they were doing a brake test, we buy brakes as a system

I ran these before moving to Intends. I've also tried a bunch of other brakes. Most of the mtbr discussion is people dogpiling SRAM due to that youtube review by Dale Stone. I tried to offer some useful commentary there but eventually got tired of arguing with people who would never try them and just wanted to shit on SRAM (which I can relate to given my CS experiences with them). I'm not really sure where Enduro MTB got the power numbers from, I can say in terms of feel at least, the Mavens seem to have more power earlier...

I've had almost all of them with ride time and the Trickstuff has a lot of similarities with Hope, the quality is just slightly more refined and better, but not by much. They also ditch DOT, which I know some people care more about than others, although it's a big issue in the US where Bionol is nearly impossible to find. I tripped over my bottle and nearly lost half of it, which made for a rough moment and a few bad words. I also feel at the price point they should include bleed tools, Intend does and IMO there...

Man, thats a kick in the nuts. As abrasive as Leo can be, I consider him to be the primary force behind the geometry revolution of the last 10 years. As recent as 2018, the Specialized Enduro still had XC geometry. I was always curious how Pole supported all they do with boutique sales and hype. In Robs video he blames it on the post-COVID bike industry crash, but that can't be the only reason why. Did he seek a loan or line of credit to keep the doors open? Is that even possible in his jurisdiction and company size?
