I recently built up two sets of wheels with DT 350s and they’ve been great so far 🤞 Speaking of hubs, just got an email from OneUp announcing their new hubs. They look pretty promising and I’ve had good experiences with many of their products.

Ask a group of heavier, smashier riders about your assertion that the shock yoke thing is overblown. There's this funny category of parts that are perfectly reliable, even exceptionally so, for most riders, but flip into guaranteed issues above a certain weight and smashiness factor. Carbon cranks, long-travel single-crown CSUs and high engagement hubs from the likes of I-9 and King are other examples of this phenomenon.

Digging up an old post, but I've been running 612 calipers (the original prototype Trickstuff-looking ones, not the cybertruck-looking ones that you can now get) with Trickstuff DRT levers for more than a year. Very short lever throw, power very close to the Maximas I have on the other bike, but with a much better lever feel. The prototypes have at least one drawback, can't fit a rotor bigger than 2.15-2.2mm (2.3 fits, but rubs constantly until the pads are worn down a bit), while the new ones are designed with a 2.3mm rotor in mind. Made some progress with the Hayes Dominion excessive dead throw issue! For anyone with who's interested, here's the fix : 1. Remove the lever - two torx screws top and bottom, then wiggle it out. 2. Loosen the small grub screw (green arrow). 3. Tighten the ball-head screw as far as you can without it rubbing (red arrow) 4. Tighten the grub screw again and reinstall. Doing this reduced the dead throw in the lever by 12mm. Still slightly more throw than my Codes, but massively improved. I suspect mine were set up wrong from the factory and the ball-head...

Currently the only new things in the brake setup on the bike are the A4 calipers, pads, and the NSB adapter. Everything else are the previous SRAM bits. SRAM has had webinars on it. The product is being sent to shops. It was supposed to be launched in the fall with the new Specialized UDH Crux. Seems like they have abandoned the typical embargo because it's being shown everywhere. Shimano has DI2 XTR and DI2 1x GRX dropping as well. Great time to be a consumer of bikes and components.

One interesting thing is that they use the super large chainrings so that they spend more time in the middle of the cassette and specifically lean more towards the larger cogs because they are more efficient than the small. (because of chain articulation) Nino and the boys want to avoid the 10T at all costs (unless in a sprint) and even the 11t because it's less efficient.
