I saw the dual compound version but I really need the exo+ casing. Think the maxxterra is the only one available in that casing.

I had the same combo last season and that Rekon lasted 12 rides before the cornering knobs started disappearing. Amazing while it lasted. Now I run the dual compound Rekon which lasts significantly longer while sacrificing a bit of cornering grip.

Really happy with this setup: lol moped tire Fast rolling and good grip for dry dusty/rocky soil: Will see how they last though- this is 10 miles in… corner knobs already starting to show undercutting

Honestly as long as the front doesn't fall off we're all good 😉

Wild looking 32" BMC spotted making laps on the Andorra XC track for testing. Note the crazy add-on dropouts to make a 29er fork work and the custom mega-drop stem that mounts above and below the head tube, similar to drawings we've seen in this tech forum. The bike is being test ridden by BMC rider Titouan Carod, who won't be racing it this weekend, but is helping BMC test it on an actual World Cup XC track at World Cup pace (photos and factoids courtesy of the other sight). I'm posting this photo to say "I told you so"...

Argotal up front is what you want for marbles, loose sand, and dust.

speculation or fact? Love my ERA fork, only way 38mm would make sense to me it would be for an ebike specific fork.

Whoa, a new tread for short travel trail bikes?! You have me excited! I am on DHF + Forekaster on the same travel bike and it rips. A new tire (like a DHF2 with wider center tread) would hit the spot 🤌

Thanks for sharing your experience and insight. If you like the Rekon, I would highly recommend trying out the updated Forekaster when you get the chance. To me it corners, brakes, and climbs noticeably better than the Rekon without giving up much (anything?) in rolling speed. I've been running it on the rear of my 130/140 bike with something new we're cooking up on the front. It's great for a speed-focused trail bike.

Some quick hits on the Vittoria tires I've played around with over the past couple seasons - all XC / Trail stuff I've ridden on my Honzo & Tallboy. All tires are the graphene / 4C compounds that go with the XC (120 tpi) or Trail (60 tpi) casings. I'm not sure if there's a difference between the compounds on each tire though my assumption is that the XC tires get a harder compound than the trail tires. I've got essentially no experience in actual muddy conditions as our trails aren't able to be ridden in the wet. Mezcal XC...

Yes it would also be covered but that would have me out of a brake for maybe 2-3 days while the shop submits warranty claim etc. It took me a short drive and $34 CAD to get the rebuild kit and 1 hour of labour to fix it. Good to know your friends' A2s are going well. Maybe just crappy...
Hey @HexonJuan I finally found out the issue with my Dominion A4s and it was a leaky caliper. During fatbiking your bike is constantly getting washed so I guess the smallest amount of leak would get washed away going unnoticed. Hayes warrantied the front caliper and I has to rebuild the rear as it also started leaking after spending a...

Yes, I agree that we're hearing a lot of different perspectives on the same tire. If I can expand on what I said earlier, I think it's actually a combination of what others have said. As a rear tire, I get a lot of squirm and fold from the Conti DH casing is I don't run extra pressure, about 3-5 psi more than I would on a Maxxis DH casing. But as a front tire, it feels wooden and transmits a lot more trail feedback compared to a Maxxis. It still managed to grip fine, I never had sketchy moments...

Personal opinion, I’d never buy anything sram if not ultimate/silver level. Base might have a nicer pull but they’re on bushings, that will get sloppy and noisy quick, just like everything else they make. And this is a fact, not an opinion. Same with having the contact adjust on the higher end maven, if not base I’d 100% recommend those, you can make them softer and they work great. I have done that dumb pull the lever until contact and check the weight, it was the same as any XT/XTR brake out of the box, so they’re heavy pull when...

finally a shimano clip pedal that might actually contact a shoe.(some shoes do as they flex or deep cleat pocket's) or support oneup who make the best SPD pedal so far that you can actually rebuild.

I did back to back comparison between Enduro Super Soft and Downhill Super Soft Kryptotal Fr and I agree. The Enduro casing is more compliant and less harsh in front. Now that we have the lighter casing super soft option, it makes sense to run it in the front. As for weights you can see what I measured below and...

Based on where that 2mm bolt sits, it looks like they've reworked the SwingLink (26 in first diagram) to be more like the Pushrod (18 in second diagram) in the Base lever. Appears that it's adjustable as well. More/less leverage is my guess. Ultimate / Bronze Base
