6/24/2025 10:00am It would be cool to have a comparison between some other inverted forks like Intend Edge, Push 9.1 or even a Dorado. The Edge is a whopping 570g lighter than this fork!

This is a great point. I used to break shit all the time, mainly wheels, until I began racing XC and riding a single speed exclusively. While I no longer race, that experience still informs my trail/enduro riding style which I would describe as aggressively smooth. For the past 10 years or so my bikes were all longer travel trail or enduro bikes. A couple years back I got one of the flex stay Stumpjumpers after I bought an alloy Stumpy EVO. Thanks Dave, as above I hear you on the price and appreciate it's not within everyones budget but I wanted to make the best possible version I could so here we are .. we do sell them ... tends to be more the brain surgeons though 😜 🤣 cheers Jim

@ sprungmass .Thanks for the compliment 🤣 honestly the rpice is really just the true cost of choosing to make as much as we can in the U.K , all our additive prints and all fabrication / materials are not mass produced from Asia, but that does maen it's not for everyone in terms of cost , cheers Jim

I think you and Primoz are thinkin' too hard, and that's not meant with any holier than thou. The pads will leave a witness mark on the rotor's brake track, even on initial bed in. I'd be cautious introducing anything that may negatively affect pucker power, such as permanent marker.

The strange behavior at the shock you can see there is due to the tire. In my opinion most, if not all, the suspension performance gripes that people have with flex stay bikes is mostly due to the fact that they are typically less gravity oriented so suspension performance for descending is not prioritized. The Stumpjumper 15 and the Stumpjumper 15 Evo are the same bike. In the previous Stumpjumper generation, the flex stay Stumpjumper was very different from the rest of the Stumpjumper models.

@dolface think about it like a wishbone. If you pull the ends apart it's under tension. If you push them together it's under compression. If you neither push nor pull it's neither under tension or compression. It's two wishbones though, so it's important that they flex together. Also one side had the brake attached so it's either important that it braking doesn't upset things - or that the importance of weight/cost/other outranks braking effects. The displacement across the wishbone (rear triangle) is normally tiny, especially on short travel bikes, so the force it imparts to the system is inconsequential. @CascadeComponents...

Bad news for Di2 curious 11-speed LinkGlide lovers like you. This is a clarification about 12-speed vs. 11-speed XTR rear derailleurs, added to the XTR article after we published it due to questions from readers about 11-speed Linkglide options and clarification at Big Blue. Riders who are primarily Enduro riders and like to smash into things tend to dislike these flex stay or XC style bikes. In XC, we don't smash into things like a big Enduro bike.
