Wow I've never considered an Ari until that new Timp Peak. Nice to see an ebike being sold as a frame, even if it is expensive, but transferrable lifetime warranty?! (this is a first for a DTC brand to do lifetime warranty at all right?) Also, 600wh or 800wh battery that can be swapped or range extended, so all of us should be happy in some configuration. Vertical mount crab link without trunion. It would be really hard to buy a Vala or a Regulator over this if you can come to grips with owning an Ari.

Watched a guy at the Monster Pro DH in Cat 1 snap his top tube ripping through a 90 degree berm. Irony being he didn’t realize it. I heard it clear as day & was telling people around me “I just heard his bike snap”. He hits the 3 flat hucks Neko built to “break test frames” & on the 3rd one the down tube made a crunch sound & that was it. Said he’s had it for 2 weeks. JRA !

So I'll bite for a chance at a free van trip. My name is Charlie, I'm one of the tech editors here, based in LA. I'm a former pro MTB racer, have done a lot of bike travel, and I've owned my very own bike van in the past. I think vans can be awesome for road trips but are a real drag as a primary vehicle, which is part of the reason why rental vans for bikes/motos seems like an interesting business idea. Would love to do a one week rental and go to school remotely. That would actually...

Sitting on old inventory just became more valuable. New stuff that hasn't landed yet is going to be much more expensive. Customers will be faced with a decision to pay more for the new new or, pay less for the old new. Hopefully the big boys landed all that rumoured Covid overstock into the US before yesterday. If not they'll be paying MORE for old and that's really really going to hurt. There is an upside for us Canadian's, you guys can come buy bikes here and play price arbitrage as we're not likely to hit the countries that manufacture...

To be fair, it's also possible that competitively priced and highly specialized manufacturing will pop up in the U.S. at enormous scale with armies of knowledgable, specialized non-immigrant workers in the next month to save us from these high costs. That's all we need. Well, that and in-country raw material extraction for materials that often don't exist in our borders in the quantities we need, like bauxite, rubber, lithium, cobalt, rare earth elements, etc. But if we can figure out those two aspects in the next month we'll be fine.

Just because a bike looks like another one doesn’t mean it will perform equivalently. Think about all the different crab bikes and how differently they perform based on tiny kinematic differences. Brian Cahal recently revied the previous gen of the Norco in an ebike shootout and placed it dead last. Meanwhile, as you say, the Slash+ reviews well.

Seeing the new Propain, anyone heard about the new TQ motor? Hoping it’s the same mounting and electrical connections and can be a drop-in upgrade for the HPR50. But I’m probably dreamin’

I have absolutely no affiliation with Vorsprung, but I thought I might mention here that anyone in the US considering buying one might want to move fast (before questionable tariff policy means they cost 25% more for no reason). I really hope that Vorsprung financials are strong and they can weather a probable nosedive in US-based demand. Such a cool...

The AXS T-type derailleurs absolutely do not play nice with old Eagle cassettes. There's physical interference long before you can even start worrying about shift quality.

This is just the cassette that's used with the OEM only S1000 Transmission. That whole groupset kind of flew under the radar when it launched, but nothing new here.

What do we have here? XS-1270 Eagle Transmission Cassette | CS-XS-1270-A1 | SRAM 10-52t compatible with an HG driver body, huh? Mech Tranny release imminent?
