9/11/2025 12:19pm Interesting, but it doesn't know your cadence, so this is an approximation at best. I'm sure most riders are operating in a predictable cadence range, so it's likely better than nothing. Nevertheless, the root of this discussion is the news that they removed/increased said shift speed limitation.

it doesn’t feel vastly different to the previous Tech 4. The main difference is that the new cam design shortens the free stroke quite a bit, which for me makes the brake feel more direct when you activate it. It’s SUPER easy to feel what it’s doing and when the power comes on. I had to change where I run my levers in the starting position because they bite and ramp up sooner. That overall softness you speak of is still there once you get into the power band more, but I’d say their claim of 6-7% increased power holds...

I think Norco reducing frames goes back to what others have previously mentioned and lines up with how the new Trek Fuel is being positioned. Everyone is expecting their non-XC bikes to be able to ride anywhere (from local trails to DH) so they have to be made more robust, which increases weight, and then what is the realy difference between a short travel trail bike (like an Optic) and a long travel trail bike (like a Range)? You end up with the same brakes, wheels, tires, rear shock, and kit, with the only difference being a Pike/36 vs Zeb/38...

6/18/2025 10:17am $435 retail for a replacement of the bottom-tier derailleur that will ship on cheap bikes seems completely daft. Joe-shmo is going to quit mountain biking after he smokes his first derailleur and doesn't want to pay up to replace it.

I am aswell, we still have gx AXS kits available. Same tech, similar speed and a no clutch proper clutch setup BUT Quite a bit cheaper, Currently you can Get GX axs for half the price of the XTR kit - whats the benefit of XTR? I Feel they've gone for the "LOOK we have fast shifting" even though Sram had the same kinda thing 5 years ago. I really like shimano drivetrains(other than the derailleurs breaking at the first blade of grass they hit) I was expecting good things from shimano for their new Wireless drivetrain and new Brakes...

TBH i am a bit surprised about all the positiv feedback for the Orbea bike To me the bike is just boring and has nothing really going for it. I mean i looks nice, but it's just a very normal split pivot design, No high pivot (wouldn't buy), no fancy kinematics and all those annoying enduro standards. Adding weight in a clan way is nice, but i wonder if you couldn't just make an alluminum frame in the first place
