Hey all, just heard back from Rockshox tech support and here's what they had to say. Interestingly, they approved reusing cursh washers between 200-hour services: "The 200-hour service kit includes crush washers, which only need to be replaced during the 200-hour service. They can be reused during 50-hour services. The crush washers for each side of the fork are unique. Use a pick and jab 'er in there. Use the little hole you just made to jack it out a bit. If you can get it up on the thread a bit, twist counterclockwise and the thread helps lift it out. Godspeed. Rockshox probably doesn't approve that but works fine for meeee

Purely anecdotal, but as someone connected in both the climbing and mountain biking communities, in the past decade I personally know 4 people that have sustained spinal injuries while climbing (specifically, all from bouldering falls) but 0 people from mountain biking, despite being and hanging out with a bunch of bike part rats. Thing is, these are inherently risky hobbies...

"...the really interesting aspect is how America's truly believe their economy is in bad shape, when in reality is the envy of the [world] and by far the most successful over the last few years." I've been yelling this at the top of my lungs to people around me. No one in my corner of the US would believe it or acknowledge it. I THINK it's a short memory and a lack of A-to-C (and beyond) critical thinking. "It was really good and now it's worse?" They can understand that. But they can't understand "It was really good and now...

I think it'll reinvigorate the used market a bit, for sure. TPC is probably drooling about it as we type/read.

Not to be overtly political, but the US’s once and future president has indicated he intends to impose significant tariffs on foreign manufactured goods. Let’s assume for discussion that this actually happens -- anyone care to conjecture what effect such a policy would have on this industry?

That 9-45t cassette from shimano is neat. I've wanted a tighter 12 speed option for a while other than stuff like e13 and garbaruk. I ran e13's 9t stuff for a while and on most bikes it worked well, some bike shapes didn't play nice with the 9t for the most part it worked out well. Shimano had that XTR 10-45t cassette but as far as I could tell it was vapourware; I've never managed to see one in real life. But 9-45t allegedly coming on a bike? XTR LINKGLIDE being 11 speed? This is crazy. it's like they listened...

I picked up a Revel Rail 29 160 GX for $3300 shipped. They had 5 in stock, 4 after I bought mine. Around 4pm the next day they still had 4 and around 7pm they were gone. A few smalls are left but the price went up.

These days I prefer top level brakes and a good hand built wheelset over a flossy drivetrain. I love tech and innovation. But even if I had the money and bought a complete bike with transmission, I’d sell the transmission for a mechanical and use the cash on spare tires, brake pads, bleed kit, etc.

There's pretty obviously no point to running this and an O-chain simultaneously... Two ways to skin the same cat. Cool tech and a creative solution. I can't help but feel that an O-chain is still easier to add to an existing bike, but if I was already looking for new wheels for a descent focused bike, or perhaps building something...

I agree that the decision to go with a " Trickstuff-inspired" design was definitely patent related. They even outright mentioned this in one of the videos on their Bilibili account (that I mentioned at 21:25, though this was the only point that I was unable to find the original source for when I was making this video, bah). The stated something along the lines of " we conducted intensive patent research and found that Trickstuff had no patents we would have to work around ha ha", both verbally and in written captions on the video.
