There's pretty obviously no point to running this and an O-chain simultaneously... Two ways to skin the same cat. Cool tech and a creative solution. I can't help but feel that an O-chain is still easier to add to an existing bike, but if I was already looking for new wheels for a descent focused bike, or perhaps building something...

I agree that the decision to go with a " Trickstuff-inspired" design was definitely patent related. They even outright mentioned this in one of the videos on their Bilibili account (that I mentioned at 21:25, though this was the only point that I was unable to find the original source for when I was making this video, bah). The stated something along the lines of " we conducted intensive patent research and found that Trickstuff had no patents we would have to work around ha ha", both verbally and in written captions on the video.

It looks like arek is the only one to have won multiple pieces of SRAM hardware. So considering we don't know what season standings prizes are yet, perhaps they are still the biggest winner here? In other news, it appears that my moneyball strats are good enough for dregs, but not much more. Winning requires boldness.

So I watched Jason’s discussion with Dak on these and understandably he’s being a bit cagey (and possibly doesn’t actually know much about them besides that they make him faster haha). Luckily, Fox Factory’s patent application pretty much lays out exactly what the potential benefits are. If mounted on the unsprung mass (like we saw on Dak’s bike last weekend)...

So it took me way to long to stitch these together and export it properly, but I did this test with the tyre at 18psi and 26psi, the 18psi gave the best result. Using parts on hand like some springs around 11.8 N/mm, a 250g mass and a 600g(250+350) mass. (*edit using the 2 opposing springs halves the rate so more like 6 N/mm) The wheel alone is about 1800g so total system about 2.4kg Tyre rates are roughly 35N/mm @ 18psi and 44N/mm at 26psi BUT they are slightly progressive in the first few mm plus I trimmed the...

I'm not convinced the countershox is a traditional TMD. What it seems to do is respond to a shock input with a delay that feeds back an opposing force (now of course the setup will lead to a specific resonant frequency, but I don't think they've tuned it that way). If anyone wants to buy one and ship it to the UK, I'd love to pop it on a shaker table to measure the frequency response, whack it with a modal hammer to see the shock response, then of course get out the hacksaw!

A cobbled together Home Depot shake weight might give some pleasant placebo effect, but I suspect that’s about it. They’re formally called Tuned Mass Dampers because the mass, spring rate, and damping coefficient are tuned to the application, with knowledge of the system mass and the spectrum of vibration input/output, to reduce the amplitude of system resonances. DH/park riding is...

Something on AP upper fork. Could be another version of a mass damper? I also noticed his rocker link has a flip chip at the top shock mount. He’s back on the steel chainstay as well, which is switched from all the photos early this week. Lots going on with this machine!

Couldn't help but notice they're using a different oil for Shimano brakes, i'm wondering if that's something already in the market and will be stock on the new lineup or if it's a new Shimano recipe

I purchased a 6D ATB-1 quest after reading recommendations from several people on this forum, as well after seeing lots of them on BMX and Slopestyle athletes (once I started spotting them, they were everywhere). Unfortunately, the mass and bulk of the helmet was just a complete deal breaker for me and I ended up returning it. It fit properly...

Make your own bike park by installing a zip line from the top to the bottom, and send your battery down by itself every time you finish the climb. Shred down and pick up your battery again at the bottom.
