Saw on IG that Dak picked up the win at the US Open today.. Considering how hard his recovery has been, it was good to see him win.. Maybe give him a bit of a boost going into Lake Placid and MSA..

Horrible article by 'enduro mtb'. Do they not like YT lol? Calling it a 'cult brand'. Sounds like that guy from PB that comments on every YT post that they use satanic imagery and hope the brand fails. Also didn't use any official statements or information. The pinkbike article at least provides a LITTLE more to clarify... Yes, YT EU is still restructuring and seemingly going fully under Markus since he couldn't find investors. And YT US is still 'running as normal' (for now). So, to put it in the shortest words possible... Nothing actually changed. Even the pinkbike article...

To be clear Whiteface and ORDA are not in any trouble, that is an article that was written from information that was given in an option piece by a local environmental advocacy group. So yes ORDA is not in compliance with possible required permits but it does not seem like the enforcement agency cares to be honest.

On the Whiteface world cup, does anyone know if they're canceling the next two years? The article said the trail would be remediated this fall after the race. Seems like it would've been easier to pull the permits than have this negative publicity. This seems to be the answer for why there were contractor issues and radio silence from them most of the summer.

FWIW I talked to someone over the weekend who'd been in the WF area recently and got to chat with some of the builders. Heard from him that the track is extremely gnarly and some of the builders were not willing to hit/ride some of the stuff they were building. Rumors though.

Does anyone read the marketing copy for bikes at all? If I were looking at a bike company I knew nothing about, I’d filter model by desired travel, scan photos to look at suspension design, and then go straight to the geometry section. I feel like this is the case for most experienced riders. Completely naive (I mean that in the sense of new and uninitiated) riders are going to feel overwhelmed by all the dumb jargon the industry has created and zone out of most marketing copy also. I think this is about the most harmless application of AI...

I really miss Vitus too. I have 3 Vitus bikes and love every one. I always thought they were great value bikes. I have an E-Mythique LT that came out a couple years ago. Its funny that they were ahead of their time on geo so now everyone is releasing bikes that are similar this year.

Only about a month until the final DH race of the season. Sandwiched into the North American part of the schedule is the US Open DH. The overall points champions in UCI Men's and Women's Elite WC will each receive €10,000. The winners at the US Open will get $15,000.

anyone who pays attention beyond one liners taken out of context as some kind of 'proof' of being unsportsmanlike hasn't noticed how different DH is from other sports in how much the racers support one another. While sometimes frustrated with their own performance, they all seem genuinely stoked for one another and as a whole generally show great support and sportsmanship across the categories. It's pretty heartening to see in a world where everyone wants to be offended and see grievance or hold misplaced grudges.
