I'm aware, and have an understanding that 90% or more of riders have no business touching high speed compression or rebound knobs. There are many suspension company's making fantastic stuff for cheap. Suntour, Rockshox, Marzocchi and X-fusion all knock it out of the park with close to $500 suspension products for every day riders from XC to freeride. I love my Z1 and rarely do I find it unable to keep up to my 38 Factory while it does double duty on a hardtail on the same trails. And the Domain has been a reliable smasher of a park and...

I always assumed they were kinda like SR Suntour and made parts for others primarily. It seems like with all these alternative suspension companies (not Fox/Rockshox and maybe now Ohlins) there success is tied to how easy it is to get replacement parts and talk to someone internal directly to answer questions. If a non-mainstream company could have their whole parts inventory easily accessible and always in stock and answer emails quickly, I think they could do well if the product worked even decent and there costs were reasonable.

I think it's great to have options. Similar to having a base model sports car and a ludicrous model with 900 horse power. If I had $15000 to spend on a freakin bicycle, I certainly would.

Got to give it to them, Specialized know their market! They are purely catering to the rich old guy here, the kind that always buy the latest S-Works Levo and get secretly frustrated when they’re on the trails and the friendly blue collar guy rocks up on his comp or expert and reminds him that he has pretty much the same bike for nearly half the price. Mr superior works will be please that now he can really set himself apart from the plebs.

Are these the rumoured Brembo brakes, would make sense as they are already sponsored by Ohlins?

I really love these projects, especially because they always prove that "retro" colourways still look great on modern frames. Every time, they make me check what the current colourways are because surely I just don't remember how good the modern colours are and no every time the retro colourway wins. Oh and RM should build that alloy Pipedream bike with the linkage plates.

This is a wild guess, but I've been looking at the chart on the website and I think that the 237mm stack height you're referencing on 175mm drop posts might be referring to the entire top of the seatpost, not just the "collar to saddle rail" stack height that we're used to measuring. For instance, I'm looking at the 250mm seatpost and the total post length is listed as 652.8mm, the minimum exposed height is 314.2mm, and the maximum frame insertion is listed as 338.6mm. 314.2mm exposed height + 338.6 frame insertion = 652.8mm, which is the entire length of...

California and the west coast has long been known for having trail access issues. The implementation of e-bikes have increasingly complicated matters in recent years. Our trail advocacy organizations have fought long and hard for more access by building relationships and trust with land owners. Specialized had long been a big proponent of trail access with programs such as Soil Searching until they recently axed the program due to budget cuts. Now allowing e-mountain bikes to go 28mph on our local trail networks will lose the trust of current partners and kill the possibility of opening up new land to...

The feed stock, which is the powder the laser sintering machine melts. It's not commercially available as far as I can tell, but you can buy 6061 if you have access to a machine. I'm willing to bet Atherton will be one of the first customers of the 7A77 feed stock when you can buy it, as it makes the process of making lugs a lot less wasteful.

Beauty is in the (pink) eye of the beholder. I for one think it's sweet to have brands going their own way. There is enough teal colored bikes out there.
