2/4/2026 9:48am I'm overdue to write that Telum review, but in short it's phenomenal. If the damper is anywhere near as good as the shock, it will be unreal. I couldn't believe how much better my fork felt with the MRP Lift damper, so I'm totally down for a Vorsprung fork damper.

2/3/2026 12:15pm I'm on the Vital forums so naturally I love tinkering with setups and thus love modular bikes/bikes with aftermarket links. I don't see myself buying a bike without at least one: Cascade link, progression adjust, rear travel adjust/overshock-ability. Setups I've tinkered with in the past: Nukeproof Giga: progression adjust, 170mm, 180mm lyrik. Stumpjumper Evo: stock mullet link, WRP yoke, Cascade link. 160mm Lyrik or 170mm Zeb. Also the headset cup should be on every bike. It made zero noise and was super cool to try it out in all 3 settings. Truly was 1 bike to rule them all that...

2/3/2026 8:46am I really really want to think that modular bikes like the Rallon are the "future of mountain biking" but Guerilla Gravity had a great modular bike system that even was made in the USA and they still failed in the end. This makes me think that the concept of modular bikes are doomed to fail. I can see how that would be a plus from a manufacturer standpoint because they want you to buy multiple bikes and make more money BUT a well-educated rider will always have spare parts and ways to change how a bike handles in different regions...

2/2/2026 1:42pm I talked to the EXT guys at a bikepark demo a couple summers ago, they seemed to think what Avalanche does is cool, especially because their midvalve systems work relatively similarly, but Craig can't do a huge volume of products and is kinda set in his ways and has strong opinions about setup.

2/2/2026 12:57pm I appreciate this thread and a place to appreciate bikes. Personally, if I had 3k to drop on a Vampire Fastarossa today I'd go pick one up. +1 on being able to build exactly the kind of bike you want. My current norco range with the WRP link is set up 190-180 f/r, and it is entirely too much bike...

2/2/2026 12:50pm Of course the Avalanche kit will be significantly better. The issue is the 10 hours of phone call you have to have with craig to get anything.

2/2/2026 12:49pm That'll be some interesting data to correlate to real life experience, if Steve releases it. I don't know why, but my old avalanche hybrid zeb is still kicking dirt in the face of everything that has been brought to market over the last few years, including the podium and 9-1. I'd love to see if this is represented in a damper plot.

2/2/2026 12:46pm Hear me out, ditch the six, go straight to inifinity. Infinite pivot points! (It's really just a flex-tail).

2/2/2026 12:46pm Hear me out, double flex pivots. Why have one flex pivot emulating a four-bar, when we can have TWO flex pivots emulating a six-bar.

2/2/2026 12:11pm Few speculations: New Sram stuff: there is currently a countdown at this page https://www.sram.com/en/sram/mountain/campaigns/dh for February 23rd-24th, that is most likely Transmission AXS DH and new Boxxer E1 with linear XL air spring add-on and Charger 3.2 being launched. There is a possibility new Zeb B1 get launched at the same time they share the Linear XL air spring add-on. New Lyrik would most likely be only updated to charger 3.2 so could be soft launched at later date (possibly switch from D2 to D3 in Sram product nomenclature) I hope the new Pike D1 doesn't only get the updated...

2/2/2026 12:10pm He's in Aus, so until unless they send it down, or there is a WC level event in the southern hemisphere they run what they have until they meet up with the team bus again. SRAM are coming for hardline and doing some testing post Hardline as well as Frameworks are staying for a week doing testing as they'll open the DH track just for them to test on. I'm sure some new gear will be trialed that week, not sure if I can get spy shots for you all.

2/2/2026 12:09pm Agreed. And shoutout to those crazy Cannondale/Fox DYAD pull shocks and later the Gemini shocks that changed stroke length at the flick of a lever.
