Just wild speculation here, but at this point in his career he's probably playing the long game. Switching brands just to avoid a cut in salary doesn't seem like it would move the needle. However, starting your own race team and anchoring it at least the first year would set him up long term. With ESOs push to make the sport more "elite", the established teams could become more valuable.

The Alfa Guila is fully brake by wire. The Infinity Q50 is steer by wire. The Infinity is required to have a physical backup, but I haven't heard if there is a backup system for the brakes in the Alfa. Most reviewers complained about the lack of modulation at low speeds making it hard to smoothly stop the Alpha. Almost...

Referring to Minnaar as a guy who “has podiumed” is like saying Jordan is a guy who “scored some points” in the NBA. i think they’d word it different if he really was going that way Wink

My speculation is that last year was planned to be Greg's last season. Based on that and the season Jackson had, Santa Cruz allocated funds to lock Jackson in for a long time. It was stated that Santa Cruz has Jackson locked in for a long term contract and it's clear they view Jackson as their future star. They didn't...

I've been calling regular bikes "Naturally asperated" for a couple years but it hasn't caught on yet.

Tacky Chan Super Trail would probably be up your alley if you want a precise tread with minimal/no transition knobs and a supportive casing that still pedals fast.

I feel like Deviate really missed an opportunity here to put stickers saying "this side towards ground" on the downtube

Rad news from Canfield as they announce that they will be carrying the remaining inventory of Guerrilla Gravity spare parts and making them available to GG customers: ------------------------------------------------- PRESS RELEASE: Canfield Bikes Canfield Bikes, Colorado mountain-bike manufacturer, today announces it will make official Guerrilla Gravity service parts inventory available to owners of GG bikes and frames. Denver-based Guerrilla Gravity ceased operations in September, 2023, leaving many customers wondering if there would be any continued support for recently purchased bikes. “Like the rest of the mountain-bike community, we were saddened by the news of GG’s departure from the industry,” said Lance...

I was really happy with the Tacky Chan over the summer as a front tire. It's great on loose over hardpack that makes up the majority of the local trails as long as you are ok with the DHF style lack of transition knobs. I just switched back to a Magic Marry for the fall/ winter because it punches through...

Anyone besides me think that the performance note in Bex's post is to imply that Yeti found a way to get out of her contract by essentially making something up? Like perhaps she had bonuses that she was entitled to or an automatic renewal of her contract if they didn't find fault in her. Pointing that part out makes it sound like she had to be fired for cause or her contract would auto renew so they just made it up because the standard wasn't specifically stated as a ranking # in the contract and Contract language was intentionally vague...

Seems that way, when you check her results and stage times she was consistently good. Above the average. 6 races in top ten, one win. Riders make lucrative careers out of less. So we can assume Yeti want to cut costs and budget etc..?

That is exactly how I read it. Bex thought she was locked up with Yeti for the next season and then they dismissed her due to a contract stipulation they chose to pursue.

They would have increased the same amount as DH. The rate increase relates to how many disciplines a team does ie if you have a Enduro, DH and XC teams then you saw the biggest increase and pay the most - 23k euros.

We know ESO doubled team fees in downhill, does anyone know if they did similarly wit Enduro? Increasing cost + poor coverage + poor sales = cost cutting for manufacturers. Racing is always one of the first marketing expenses to be cut. ESO treating Endro like second class race series last year can't have helped.

1. DH racing is not comparable to alpine ski racing b/c you can't get on course & stay on course as a spectator. That is a big advantage in drawing money to the resorts for a World Cup. 2. World Cup experiences success in the 60 man field b/c it does allow for a finale with either surprise gypsy times OR a guy like Gwin or Amaury (both outside protected) to get through to qualifying for finals with damaged equipment or wrecks. It's inevitable in this sport unlike moto or F1. You WILL fall. Your equipment WILL break. 3. Cutting...

For sure we won’t wake up all riding e-bikes however, from a mtb racing point of view, WBD only want a viable TV entity, enduro isn’t this. E-EDR can be more so. from sources I know it will be happening. even if the UK “National” series has just taken on e-bikes enduro is the gran fondo of the mtb world. Mass participation and soon to be not a global world sport.

I know that there is a tangential connection to team rumors, but the correlation is getting really thin. Any way y'all could move the EMTB sales talk to a different thread?
