Seriously incredible news, and to hear this is title sponsored by a massive, somewhat outside the industry company is even better news! I’m stoked to see where they take it. I hope it turns into a multi event weekend style thing, with XC, DH and maybe some slalom/pump track so we can have a now a days NORBA!

Leaving the Union is a good thing, means they got picked up by a larger team and that’s the purpose of the Union team.

Angel Suarez posted a story from a rather bland looking field in North Carolina. That field just so happens to be the parking lot for Ride Rock creek, confirming the rumor of his frameworks ride. Im betting we see an old YT mob reunion soon with Gwin at Windrock.

John is a smart man... sees the writing on the wall... Gwin likely racing only 1-2 more seasons. He's in a 'real' job role at Intense (product development). He lives in California, 3,000 miles away from his racer. I'd not be surprised at all if he took a full-time gig at Intense and stopped doing world cups with Gwin. That said, if Gwin is doing his own team with Intense frames, I could see John keeping his full time position at Intense and ALSO go on the road to the 7 world cups and world champs to wrench for Aaron...

I think it's doing Meg White a disservice to call her just an "influencer" - she's a legit racer with multiple national level wins. As for sponsoring influencer over athletes - remember, it's a marketing arrangement. The sponsor picks the people to support who will most likely move the needle in terms of sales. If racers don't want to lose marketing investment, they need to get better at being like Neko - a perfect blend of athlete and brand storyteller. The modern athlete in any sport is a brand. Its just that MTB is very, very slow to come to...

Neko is like the guy that had the vision quest, and the quest turned prophetic. Amazing that being open and honest, showing passion and hard work culminate in success. However this team turns out, how couldn't you root for frameworks? At a time when companies are closing doors and shutting down support, Frameworks is growing.

I don’t think bike sales had anything to do with his team budget. I bet that was settled long before they confirmed they would actually sell a run of bikes this year. He puts out great content and has a lot of eyes on his project, that’s worth a lot to his sponsors.

This has been a common wish from consumers about the prior AXS also. I believe that Sram is using a stepper motor with a hardware fixed movement distance for each shift. Per gear micro adjust would require a different motor.

Just to clarify. The UDH allows rotation to the rear which helps protect the derailleur, from some impacts. So yes in certain circumstances the UDH can protect the derailleur. Those impact do not damage the UDH either. In impacts large enough to damage the UDH, the bending of the UDH primarily protects the frame. In a side impact (likely the...

It's designed to rotate to hopefully move the derailleur out of the way.

The UDH is sacrificial, but it doesn't protect the derailleur it protects the frame. Sometime people think the replaceable derailleur hanger is to protect the derailleur. It is not, it protects the frame. One of the potential downsides to transmission is that without a sacrificial derailleur hanger, there is more potential to damage the frame (or hub) in a crash.

Seems like frame designers can have adjustable chainstay length or UDH. You can't really have both. unless you go all-in and make modular dropouts like the Banshee Titan or the new Forbidden DH bike. IMO this is the worst part about UDH. Privateer seems to think their typical customer is going to be happier to have adjustable dropouts than the option of running SRAM Transmission, albeit at the cost of an easily sourced universal derailleur hanger.

Perhaps, but it is really nice to be able to just go into a shop and buy a UDH when it gets damaged rather than having to order frame specific hanger.

The lack of UDH could really help or hinder them. Especially with very nice offerings from both Bird and Airdrop at the moment
