I don't know anything about BK's background, but the guy does 3 jobs. Team owner, team manager, and pro rider (top 5 in the world). He deserves to reap the rewards because that requires a serious amount of hard work and dedication, and of course talent. Not to mention his sideline projects such as the clothing brand. Plus the guy is super likeable, clearly loves riding, and is refreshingly open and honest in interviews. It would be awesome to see him standing on top of that podium in 2024.

The one way I could see to run cables similar to headset routing without the drawbacks of going through the headset bearings would be to use oversized headset cups similar to those used for reach adjustment. Put the ports just behind the headset bearings but not through the headset. Routing wouldn't be any worse than "standard" internal routing, but the...

Sure thing, sorry I will try to figure out how to turn that messages option back on here. This is a great mobility flow routine for mountain biking, in the video he does it from a standing position, but I would suggest to start it from the traditional "downward dog" yoga pose after doing some foot pedals (to get the achilles and calves stretched out) then you go into the his stretching routine. I would repeat it like 2-3 times and keep it dynamic, static stretching doesn't really do much for you. https://youtube.com/shorts/VQqabRnOR1E?si=iQWCy0DUmMqBxD5G

Listening to The Ride companion podcast with Bernard Kerr one thing he mentioned stood out to me. Discovery/ESO don't understand mountain biking. He mentioned it focused on Enduro but it applies to DH as well. That's how we end up with the lack of story telling / buildup of excitement throughout practice, qualifying, semis, and finals. It's also how we...

BKs podcasts are so good as he just throws it out, $60k less budget compared to last year, riders keep the same salary and he takes the loss. And that sponsors are serious about reducing or even canceling enduro sponsorhip as there is simply no exposure from it. Also interesting bit about the Dyfi and how much that park does for the local comunity and that Dan has been elected as city council :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsX6GRHV3AQ BK on The Ride Companion podcast. I thought I remember him saying something about Danny is crashing with him in NZ and he is set for a ride next year. "the bike is in my garage, just sorting a few things out." I cant find the time stamp now. But that is at least some good news that Danny has a ride for 24

I have heard something similar that he is looking for a very simple DH bike that could be a rental fleet. No frills, not fuss. Rides well, etc. Something he would ride, too. Part of me thinks he will work with Neko to develop that bike based off the frameworks project and help fund the grassroots program? (At least I can dream?) As for racing, I'm really hoping whatever deal he has landed on, is with Dak as well. They seemed to really work well together this year and found a groove. So having them together is a proven duo...

Something I haven't seen discussed re: Minnaar is that on the PB podcast/interview he confirmed what happened at Fort Bill Worlds last year. Wasn't a tire goof up, was delay in getting him an extended rain visor and longer mud fender on his bike, to the point it was 30s before he dropped in that he was finally sitting on his bike, and this screwed up his focus (understandably). Could have been what led to the mechanic switch from Lyle to Tom? Also lots of hints at a general vibe/organizational change at the Syndicate in the past year or two...

I'm actually wondering if Gwin was bought out of his ownership. Maybe he decided he wanted a lifestyle change, and as part of the Windrock purchase he sold stake in Intense. So he would have wanted to make some progress, felt like they were getting somewhere, but after 5 years made the tough decision to move on because it was taking too long.

Um, have you not been paying attention? Yeti built a new DH bike for Richie last year because he said he wanted to do some DH racing. Like a fully finished carbon DH bike ready for production.

DH has the pull that it does mainly because EWS, and EDR have failed to deliver an equally entertaining product. Even if the DH bike market is miniscule, I think that bike companies realize that DH is their best marketing opportunity for trail bikes and enduro bikes simply because there isn't a popular racing series for those kind of bikes. As long as a company's bike design language is consistent, I can definitely see DH race results subconsciously affecting consumers' purchase decisions. So basically manufacturers are all-in on downhill because other than XC racing, DH is the only MTB racing...

just posted our minnaar to norco interview. https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/greg-minnaar-norco-bicycles-inside-li… a couple things re: race talk - he thinks WC format will be the same in 2024 w/ semi-finals, but hasn't heard for sure. we have an interview with neko due out sometime soon and he acknowledges the same thing. super interesting. i figured semis were gone, but who knows. greg also seems stoked on the fox one-piece suit!

On their site it specifies he’s on board as a “Team Director” that wants to race while his heart is still in it. Not brought on to be on the podium.
