12/5/2023 11:03am I would love to hear more on the bar angle thing that the B-Practice podcast dove into the other week. Their comments on front wheel weighting/pressure got me interested. I've been having a hard time going from my 2017 pivot 5.5 to 2022 stumpy evo mullet and getting the front end of the cockpit right.

11/27/2023 10:21am Make sure you got a local shop that actively works on Hope brakes. I've had 3 shops work on a set of t3 e4s to get them feel right. I really like a Hope brake when they are set up perfectly, but I have had nothing but issues getting my to feel good.

Shout out to U.S. anti-trust law, which on paper exists to prevent big businesses from buying up an entire market and creating a monopoly, like this. Unfortunately, anti-trust laws are only as good as the level of enforcement by the current presidential administration, so companies like Walmart, Amazon, Alphabet, and now Warner Bros/Discovery are allowed to continue eating up whole markets unchecked, making customers and workers worse off everywhere they go. It doesn't have to be this way.

That was a heavy one, but damn, was it good. One of the cool things about riding mountain bikes is you get all types of folks with all types of experiences. Good reminder to say hey to whoever you see on the trail no matter what bike, kit, skill they got.

I skipped class senior year to drive to CA with Dak to help him build a line for his welcome to Devinci edit. As a kid from MI that was super into DH, going out west and meeting a bunch of US pros and riding all these spots I'd seen online blew my mind. Even ran into AG and JH at a shuttle spot. It was before him and Dak really knew each other much and they just kinda said hey. Lots of funny stories from that trip. Shout out to Dak for always being rad, that trip really inspired...

Luke Strobel and Bryn Atkinson told me my chain guide wasn’t clocked right in the lift line of the Mt. Hood Fluidride Cup in 2009. I built Christian Wright’s 2011 Champery World Champs race bike, where he proceeded to be the fastest junior American male, in 38th place. Shaun Palmer stopped by the shop I worked at on his way down to Sea Otter and I installed a bottom bracket into his girlfriend’s Intense XC frame. He paid me with a copy of his autobiography DVD, I was psyched.

Young Talent like Vali won't have far to go on her next giant adventure. It will surely be a big transition after three years on trek, but whether fueled by propain or gasoline, she's sure to have the support needed to cross the canyon and surmount her next challenge.
