Appreciate your thorough responses. These are major first-world problems here, but this is starting to make much more sense. Do I like it no, but I got the bike on a deal and will live with it. Might try to scope out a 29" rear wheel and try that out. See how it feels and go from there. I've always...

Yep, really a bad move that they didn't talk about the progression issue. But they wanted to call it out as a mullet-able bike and didn't want to scare people off. Also as Teamrobot pointed out... the current EVO frame launched in 2020. Which means it was on the drawing board in 2018. 11% (the EVO MX link is either 11% or 13%) progression wasn't good, but wasn't terrible by standards back then. Fast forward to 2024 and 11-13% range is super low for a modern hard-charger trail bike. They chose to give the option to the buyer to mullet...

Ok, this whole thing seems a little messed up... or I am blind/dumb. I have been trying to sort out why I have been having this issue since June of last year and felt like I was going crazy as so many people I spoke with weren't having the same issue(well looks like they were all on the 29/29 set...

Great question. My understanding is that 35mm was invented to give more surface area for stems to clamp onto slippery carbon handlebars to prevent unwanted rotation. This has never been a problem with 31.8mm aluminum bars, and stiffness (too much or too little) has never been a problem as far as I know for 31.8mm aluminum bars, whereas the general consensus on 35mm alloy bars is they feel like a jackhammer. If I could snap my fingers and uninvent carbon bars I would, but that's not realistic, so let's just let the carbon handlebar crowd have 35mm bars and they...

I've had one come loose, I promptly got rid of that wheelset and only own 6 bolt. Bonus, if you run clipless, a rotor bolt works as a cleat bolt should one of those go missing mid ride.

Thanks for that information! Is there any source to that? It would explain my experience well. I am on the smaller size and would prefer to keep the mullet, also don't want to sink more money into this bike as I haven't jived with it. @CascadeComponents do you have any figures to back this up? And is what @RiderMikeCheck1 say...

I experienced the same as you dude. Have had a stevo for 2 1/2 yrs now with float x. Kept on adding tokens to not blow through travel, but this made the bike harsh at the beginning. Fitted a cc link, removed the tokens and now have it supportive and supple, lubbly.

I appreciate this thread and the focus on the stumpy evo. I've struggled with my evo since getting it spring 23, I just blow through the last 1/3 of the travel or have so much spacers/air that it rides too rough in the first 1/3 of travel. This is on the Float X in mullet mode. Been waiting to jump...

I never understood the market of Mondraker. Back in the day when i do believe Barel and Rojo were on Mondraker (around 2008-2012) they went big in easter Europe and everyone was riding their DH bike. Same with French bikepark resorts and fleets of Mondraker DH bikes. But those days are gone and I can’t remember what was the last time to see any Mondraker on trail, whenever back in Europe or here in the US (CA, WA). If you look for their business info, you have to search for Blue Factory Team s.l.u., not Mondraker. According to some online...

Now with Dak on Mondraker, I want to know what Mondraker's current ownership structure is. Their HQ is next level so they have to have some type of big backer and they are huge in Spain. How are they capitalized to weather the current storm while also entering the US market? Who's got sources/info? *I have only done 5 minutes...

Just FYI - Someone who I will not name reached out to me from Scott suggesting the net margin numbers I was using are not correct. I'm going off a press release, so I'm not correcting anything I wrote until I see a correction elsewhere or similar. That said, I just wanted to be transparent here in the case someone is reading this stuff who actually makes decisions/cares/etc.

Meanwhile, here's a projection of 2024 bike sales in the USA: It looks like the cycling industry is projecting 2024 to be marginally better than 2023 in the US but still below pre-pandemic sales numbers. Does anyone have any insight if the sales projection for Europe and/or the rest of the world in 2024 follows a similar trajectory?

Sorry - missed this! Thx for the tag. While its impossible for me to know exactly what is going on, here is what appears to be happening... 1) As pointed out elsewhere, Yougone has a majority stake in Scott Sports. Its important to note their stake is large, which gives Youngone more incentive to help. 2) Youngone is publicly traded in S. Korea, making disclosures of this sort mandatory. 3) Of course no bank would give Scott a loan on these terms. In fact, the interest rate is closer to the 1 year treasury rate than what a business like...
