3/6/2024 2:14pm Oh boy. I feel I need to do a Twitter Spaces on this one or we're going to step all over ourselves with miscommunication through analogies. 1) Nuance is important here. There is a point of too much variance, and a point of not enough. There is just as much an art to this as there is a science. 2) Don't take my analogies too literally unless you are willing to really critically think about this. Apple does offer a number of models and variants, but relative to their TAM its not even close. To my point, Trek offers the...

3/5/2024 9:06am If you want some crazy backstory on how the whole SIGNA sports background and how it collapsed, this is a great read. You can skim some if you're not into the business nerdery: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/postmortem-signa-sports-united-jacob-dud… It's from the VP of NA expansion and explains who the background financing/ownership was. This quote hit hard, for folks on bothsides of the collapse. "...

2/21/2024 2:33pm Very good reporting going on at Escape Collective on how we got heree: https://escapecollective.com/how-did-the-bike-industry-get-into-such-de… Interviews a guy from Wiggle and has too many good quotes to list here. Ep. 3 is what I am sending to folks who are tangential to the industry; it really shows what kind of position we are in. One guy mentions that Kona laid off...

2/21/2024 10:57am I got the WRP yoke and only 1 ride so far, I can already feel a difference. My plan is to ride the WRP yoke for a while and maybe look into the CC link at a later time. And yes, it's not cool that this was swept under the rug; my local Specialized shop had no idea. It was...

2/21/2024 10:55am Double confirming this. I've ran this combo (WRP Yoke+Cascade Link + 27.5" wheel) for over a year. Sucks that Specialized didn't make this more clear in their materials---or at least to their shops so the shops aren't in the dark when customers are complaining it doesn't ride the same.

2/14/2024 11:15am I forgot to mention that Shimano's 2024 global forecast is actually not THAT bad as they are predicting global sales higher than 2019. This is actually much more optimistic than what most of the cycling industry were predicting towards the end of 2023.

2/5/2024 10:29am C'mon guys...weird discussion really If you use political correctness as a way of critique against someone, you're missing the point. If a rider gets a contract or not, is down to team owners. In times of Internet, there are many different reasons to hire a rider or not, and they're not always related to the rider him/herself. But that's not really up to you. That leaves the question: what do you gain from hating publicly on someone you don't even know. And even worse, hiding behind a username at the same time. Just try and find a better pasttime, it'll...

2/2/2024 1:01pm Privateer Gwin would be epic. Forget all the sponsor bs and just go buy the bike he's fastest on. I'm over seeing Gwin being held back by subpar prototypes.
