Young Talent like Vali won't have far to go on her next giant adventure. It will surely be a big transition after three years on trek, but whether fueled by propain or gasoline, she's sure to have the support needed to cross the canyon and surmount her next challenge.

This thread is why I keep coming back to vital. Honest thoughtful discussion and no sidetracks or anger. Talking with my local shops, unless you have money saved and CRUSH it on getting labor through the door...it's rough. Funny enough the small mom-and-pop shop that still feels like it's in the 90s and never stopped selling family bikes seems to...

"Pulling sales out of the future and into the present." I was actually sitting around a campfire on a riding trip this past weekend and said almost the same thing to my riding buddies. The way I see it, on a micro-level with the riders in my local area, a good portion of people I saw getting new bikes during the pandemic were probably going to get bikes or upgrade their bike in the next 1-2 years but working from home and the increased leisure time that came along with it led to people making their purchases 6-12 months earlier...

I haven't even finished the episode yet, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate Dak giving all these insights, it makes riding more fun to get these perspectives (especially as a moto nerd myself). Speaking of which, hope you (Dak) bought the 300SX, its so fun.

can we get a bigger sign at the top stating this is an Ad/PR? I thought vital lost it for a second... This is a swing and a miss

Mwood Added a reply to 2023 (and beyond) - Helmet Thread

If head sweat is your problem, me, the Oakley helmet with the built in Halo type thing is great. I really like my Oakley even though it's on the heavy side. As lame as the glasses holder on the back of the helmet is, it works wells and helps me not get sweat on the glasses during climbs. I'm looking...

I like that I have 10 (?) years of ride history in one place. It's fun to see trends over time.

While I am not a fan of strava for blowing up trails(my data has been locked down), when you visit a new place and just want to check out other people's loops its very nice. This last weekend I went to Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz and have never found a loop a liked. I opened the app and got...

This is a great opportunity to mention the Strava global heatmap and its effect on illegal trails. If you're using Strava, even if you set your ride to "Private" so only you can see your map, your ride will contribute to Strava's global heatmap unless you go to your privacy settings and turn off "Aggregated Data Usage." Here's a link that shows how to do this. And if you think this isn't an issue, click this link and use the global heatmap to navigate to an illegal trail you enjoy. I bet you 10 to 1 that the trail is...

So good. One of the heaviest race bikes back in the day but also a proper monster truck. Always thought these looked great in a rough-cut utilitarian way.

A rider from an island in the pacific was spotted testing a bike from also an island in the pacific, complaining about shifting and some calluses in his bare hands.

Very interesting for data nerds. Could to ball park the number of data points used? I know that might be a little 'insider information', but it would really help in understanding how significant this info is.

considering Spomer started the site from scratch, is a great dude who literally does no one harm...and constantly gets his content ideas stolen/replicated/etc ripped off by that specific site...not so much nonsense. Guy is trying to feed a family. And the dude that owned PB before it got sold was totally OK with the intellectual property theft from day 1. Bikes are fun. Doesn't mean you can be a cutthroat douchebag to the people who love them.
