I marshalled M2 at the chicane to log drop all weekend & would love to have set up my GoPro & done a line comparison there. Pinkerton & Medcalf ran trains together non-stop and were hitting an inside rock tip to avoid the off camber chicane as opposed to the Pro class most all running the wide line. Not sure if others have noticed, but it seems like the Whoop heart rate data they present on screen is wildly off. Ric keeps saying “we know he revs low”, but I seriously doubt Bruni is several minutes into VDS with a heart rate of 150…

my $0.02..... given discovery's broadcast experience and resources, combined with the literal *years* of RB broadcasts to benchmark against, coming out of the gate below the quality that RB had built to ***and charging for it*** is simply unacceptable.

I watched Red Bull's YT video "Downhill Grande Finale | Winning Runs from Val di Sole" and it only took a few minutes to remind myself how thrilling it was, the way they conveyed the energy and suspense of each run (especially when a rider went "into the green") and provided so much in-race info that made each split something to anticipate. Maybe Discovery will consider fans critiques and step things up. I can only hope so, but it's a short season and maybe they'll focus instead on how many viewers are saying "it's pretty good" and decide that any...

Rode a buddy's gearbox bike and it was an absolute nightmare to try to nail shifts to easier gears before sudden steep pitches...say going around a turn to transition onto a new trail or up out of a gully. I'd be standing up on the pedals trying to keep it upright barely moving and begging the shifter to let me go to an easier gear. It was on a Zerode. I now await 5 pages of education on how simple it is and all the various techniques of why I should get my act together.

from what I understand it was brought in by ESO to soften the change in the cut of 60 riders to 30, I understand they think the sport is more elite with just 30 finalists, and I won't be surprised to see that as the qualifying cut next year. IMO many of these riders now in that top30 have slowly progressed to get there, and them doing so provides great storylines when they do get their first podium and so on, removing 30 riders loses all of that. "If your bars aren't at least as high as your seat at full extension, they are probably too low for a trail or enduro bike." At 6'2 with a 34" inseam I'd need ape hangers to achieve that.

Ok that coverage was very ordinary. Patchy sound, results list showing the elite women in junior mens, swapping from one rider to another mid run. Listening to Rick was as exciting as watching paint dry and Cedric was like a poverty Claudio. 4/10
