Too true. All the YouTuber trail narcs & Strava KOM lorders have to brag to the world for the clicks. Even if a team rig rolls up...without the narcs, you'd still have to find it, test it out and do work to get to and from. DH trails are dead now though. "Trinidad" and all the others are now the domain of the SurRon urban vape douches and their next IG reel featuring ASAP Rocky and their comments to outraged locals of "you seem turnt bruh. chill"

Mentioning both the real and false trail names verbatim together in this thread raises the page’s SEO and makes the page more findable for those searching either name. It also negates the purpose of the false trail name. Just because the location is an open secret doesn’t mean it should be even more obvious. Honestly, feels like we got them quicker than usual this year. A few years ago feels like we didn’t get a bunch of them till UCI released the teams in like March. Feel like enhancing pretty much everything wrapped up by end of January is ahead of schedule for most years. with social media being such a big part of all these brands marketing now days, keeping their riders off social media for more than a couple weeks feels like they are just cutting into the value of what they are paying their athletes.

There is definitely an art to it. I'd say second week of January is ideal. I don't think being the last to announce is best. Its like making a mix tape. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gwin’s in a bit of a tight spot when you consider that he’s effectively a team owner without a title sponsor and now without his right hand man. Pretty much all of the brands that could afford Gwin are spoken for and I don’t see him slotting into someone else’s program at this point in his career. It would be amazing to see him take over as the yeti factory team for dh but if that doesn’t come together he’s probably going to be riding the frame he got paid to develop, but for free.
