2/19/2025 1:28am Ironically, for the cost of 1 electronic dropper, you could buy 3 normal droppers and wouldn't need to swap anything. Bikers will buy the most stupid sh*t and electronic droppers is at the top of that list.

2/18/2025 11:31pm I guess for E bikes that makes sense for some people. I tend to drive on salty roads to get to trails so I swap cables pretty frequently when they get sticky. Personally the beauty of bikes are that you can accomplish everything with a mechanical system that I can work on at home. I'd rather spend an hour fishing cables through my frame (or better yet using external routing on 3 out of 4 of my bikes) than re flowing solder on surface mount microcontrollers or scraping off corrosion from battery contacts.

2/18/2025 11:13pm It looks just as terrible as the Fox Version, Why do we need such a big 'wart' Looking thing halfway up the seat tube..... I want a wireless dropper but i dont want either of those 2 ugly things, especially because i want 240mm drop and the ability to slam the post.... Im happy to pay those prices when a brand can actually design one that doesnt look terrible.

2/18/2025 10:52pm Santa Cruz Bullit 4 rumours. Bike would be revealed early April, Gloss Black & Matte Teal Sparkle colors. New SRAM Eagle 70 & 90 drivetrains (mechanical) on lower end builds. SC are now showing pictures of an unknown color (looks like Gloss Black) on their Vala page. Santa Cruz are tagging bike models in the name of the photos on their website and they tagged in the Bullit (VA-BU as in Vala-Bullit) on all of the pictures below.

2/16/2025 9:38am This. I had a 2014 OG Canfield Riot with 414 stays and 29x2.5 tire clearance. Chainline was a little fucky, but anyone that says you need super boost for tire clearance is drinking the Kool aid...and I own a Knolly.

2/16/2025 9:36am They have so much space behind the seat tube to install all that hardware. Looks like a fun project.

2/16/2025 9:29am I see your size-specific chainstay lengths and raise you – size-specific wheelsizes! 24" XS, 26" S, 27.5" M, 29" L, and 32" XL.

2/16/2025 9:28am “Im sorry did you say niche? Im (big bike company name here) and I see this as a perfect opportunity to convince you, that you need 32” wheels or you suck at riding. Im going to milk this cow till its dead. You say it works best for 6’ 5” tall people? Im sorry but, wrong, it is the next best thing for 5’ 6” tall people. Tell me otherwise and our lawyers will be at your doorstep with a bat. Keep the rubber side down or some shit.” - Scott Bikes probably.

2/16/2025 9:27am 32" is clearly too large. 29", on the other hand, might not be large enough. So obviously the future is going to be 30.5" wheels.

2/16/2025 9:27am If the niche for 32" wheels is people over 6'6" tall, it's hard to make a business case for making them. If the niche for 26" wheels is people under 5'6" tall, that's much easier to justify because not only are there grown adults under 5'6" tall, every adult who is over 5'6", was at some time under 5'6".

2/16/2025 9:26am Bike brands: You don't need to tool and produce 27.5" lowers anymore, the market wants mullet and full 29" bikes. Fork makers: Phew, what a relief. Between wheelsize, offset, and axle sizes, it's a lot of parts to manage. Bike brands: What have you got in the works for 32"? Fork makers: Excuse me?

2/12/2025 1:38pm I think that's fair. After doing this test, I'm going to keep thrashing my 2018 Commencal Absolut. I will say that the best part about these bikes is you can go in on a DJ, and 5 years later it'll be just as fun and will have required minimal maintenance. I can't say the same about any mountain bike I've ever owned.

2/12/2025 8:51am Yep! Gearboxes are THAT BAD that we'd rather put up with all the faffing with chains. j/k. The truth is I've never ridden a gearbox and have nothing against them. I just like making jokes. I'm down to try one as soon as they end up on a bike that I'd be interested in buying, in a price range I want to hit, at a time I'm looking to buy one, and designed with my specific use case in mind.
