I would imagine the S200 will be marketed as a park/DH bike while the carbon will be the full on race bike. The gear box bike, if it sees production, would probably be offered as a second option or completely replace the carbon bike currently. Their manufacturing method sounds pretty lean which lets them be flexible. They don’t have molds for carbon frames that they are hoping to get X number of frames out of.

Reading the last few pages, I am definitely convinced to keep my 1x11 drivetrain until I go for an electric motor + gearbox setup. Seems like not long now, and I am not in a hurry anyway.

Just to give Quick response to those wondering about how trek plans to sell these top level bikes at the advertised price. As someone who works at a shop that sells Trek bikes. If you like you can go through online tutorials program called TrekU and once you have completed enough modules, you are awarded employee pricing where you are able to buy bikes at 30% off cost. I assure you these top level bikes are built to bait newer staff of trek dealers to buy what looks to be an incredible deal. They have no intentions to sell these...

I remember watching Emeline Ragot ripping workd cup dh tracks on a 29er that looked massive for her... I am afraid we will see such things again, because "20% more traction and roll over obstacles" 29 ain't dead

The other site had a 'blind' tyre test video where they compare all the Assegai type tyres, the Kenda did better than they and I expected.

Here's a Slayer prototype frame built in 2018 IIRC. I have another example of an earlier prototype built with a chip that allowed a low or mid-height main pivot. I'll have to fire up my external drive (cough I'm old..) to get a photo.

For racing, it's never really the bike, it's the rider and feeling comfortable on the bike. People win without drivetrains, on dry tires in the mud etc. Roczen is kicking ass on a 10 year old Suzuki with a Kickstarter... None of that has anything to do with what's an improvement mechanically though.

Haha that hits right home 😄 If they managed to make it resist the extreme pressures that Asa must have put though that shock, my respects to Fox. I highly doubt that they didn't have to rebuild the thing every two runs, though. But one can dream...

Brand new open bath technology. Comes with the air already mixed with oil in a patented "OIR" blend so you don't need to worry about pesky seals and stuff.

Just finished watching Hardline. Gearboxes, belts or "regular" bikes didn't make the difference. Lines and commitment did. Which to me is great news, it is awesome to see so much variety of bikes performing at the absolute peak on a long track that has it all. The level is so good right now, both in riders and bikes. Personally, I...
