Everyone knows the only way to get your bars and levers juuuust right is to adjust them with a rusty multi-tool in the trailhead parking lot while your buddies are waiting on you to start the ride. The more exasperated your friends are, the more precise the alignment.

We’re not allowed to call them chainstays anymore . We must refer to them as (part of) the rear centre… or face forum judgement.

Technically I don't get paid by SRAM either. They support the Canyon factory team that I am a part of, who pays me. That isn't to say they don't support me, but I don't have a contract with them. Factory teams are generally bolstered by sponsorship deals to increase the budget they have. YT went the route of 'uncaged' which meant they were fitting the whole bill and allowing their riders to run whatever they wanted, not taking any sponsorship money so the riders weren't forced into anything. Or so I understand it. So Jack would still get paid as...

Just to add some fuel to the fire, it's long been my opinion that nobody should feel entitled to make a living from sport. If you happen to be very good at a sport that also happens to be very popular, you stand to make a lot of money, and bully for you! But that's not a right. If, however, you're very good at an unpopular sport, just enjoy being good at something. If the sport is also dangerous, you also have a risk/reward equation to balance in your head before competing. But nobody's forcing you to take those risks.

For me, biggest advantage of 29 front wheel is confidence going over big ledges and deep holes. Definitely easier on a big wheel. For the rear wheel, I don't feel any advantage having a 29, but the loss of agility is noticeable. And also the risk of tyre buzz is higher.

well, calmer feeling on gnarly tracks is one thing i'm looking for above most other aspects.

Another way to put it is that 29ers feel slower. You are probably going the same speed if not faster, but it does feel slower, calmer. This is great if you are really pushing to warp speeds, or on super gnarly tracks. But if you are just riding for fun they can be a bit dull.
Mullets for DH feel much more agile, and the speed feels the same. At least for me, but I'm not a racer. DH 29ers require you to be more centered on the bike. I'm 1.88 with long legs and in my first jump trail testing previous gen Commencal Supreme I felt the tyre buzz... Not worth it for marginal gains...

I've got a customer who ordered an A-series bike that I'll hopefully be helping build soon. One thing I didn't know was the customer is contacted and brought along through the whole build of every frame. He gets check in's from Atherton bikes every step of the way. To me, it seems to be taking a bit longer than I expected but it sounds like they're quiet busy. Interesting to see the customer side of what they're doing and it's pretty impressive to what I've seen from other custom builders.
