11/6/2025 11:38am Tippie isn’t competitive, and you’re not really hiring him to ride. He's basically a marketing ambassador. You aren’t paying him to even ride, really. He has a skill set that’s beyond riding and something that most people, regardless of their riding ability, don’t have. He’s not really a “modern” influencer, because social media isn’t his medium, but a brand would basically “sponsor” him in the same way as an influencer, not as a racer/freerider. You’re paying for the personality and story, not the talent.

10/29/2025 3:11pm My two cents. I like watching “second tier” riders right along side the pointy end dudes. Especially when you get to see a rider develop over a few seasons. The rider that starts to qualify more regularly, then becomes a top 15-20 dude, then top 10, and finally a podium threat. I like to see this on the same courses as Loic and Jackson, it gives me scale. I love WC racing, I pay to watch. I am not going to suddenly start paying close attention to IXS Cups. I’ll look at the results of a Monster Energy Series race...

10/22/2025 1:47pm Ah sorry, I was getting carried away talking about product instead of teams...however none of you are guessing the pro riders foot in my picture? Man I thought that was what team rumours was all about! I thought someone would have blown it up and analysed the lacing pattern to identify who is going to be spearheading the Nukeproof team in 2026!

10/21/2025 1:46am Hi all, I'm the 'Gosling' being referenced in the Bikeradar article. I had meetings in Les gets with five teams, YT being one and I'll start by saying that Gunnar Franke (Team Manager) is one of the best guys in the pits running a great team with awesome riders and staff. However we (Nukeproof) don't have the budget to go from 'no team' to one of the best, and highest budget teams in the pits when today we are not even selling any bikes. I also feel that we are not the type of brand that wants or needs one...

10/21/2025 1:12am The only really practical case I could see for swapping back and forth would be if you mostly raced dh and rode park in the summer and if you lived somewhere where you could train and do more pedaling in the off season. Sea to sky kind of situation, were you ride Whistler park all summer, but then ride Squamish and North Van all winter. But I'm not sure anyone will be swapping back and forth on a regular basis.

10/21/2025 1:06am I think the ski discussion is really relevant for all the reasons you guys mentioned. We haven’t really looked into how well the “lift-served businesses” are actually performing, but I’ve always wondered about their economics. I’ve never done a deep dive, or even been to Whistler, (I know...) but in Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado, I’ve yet to visit a bike park that makes me think, “Yeah, these guys are printing money.” At best, most of them seem like breakeven operations, with Whistler possibly being the exception. Then again, maybe patrol + lifty + electricity isn't all that expensive so it...

10/18/2025 5:32pm Not exactly an innovation per se; but Raaw has started offering the option to rent a toolbox full of all their adjustments included. You get it for two weeks so you can decide if any of those adjustments make sense before you buy. And, get a discount when you do decide to buy something afterwards. Pretty cool idea. https://raawmtb.com/en-us/collections/parts/products/raaw-factory-suppo…

10/15/2025 8:35pm Trek pretty much started new this season so I would imagine they are all on 2 year contracts minimum. Not sure of Hauser’s situation as recall he wasn’t on the full Trek program at the start of the year. But since we are throwing out scenarios. OO replaces Matt Walker at Trek and Matt Walker replaces Matt Walker at Pivot.

10/15/2025 8:24pm Great question.. I ended up trying to Google around to see if people on reddit, PB, here were mentioning something similar. I had to dig quite a bit to find it as I was having the same issues when trying to use the search function. I ended up going through the "Replays", and swiping through to find the event, and then I finally found the Men's Elite race replay.

10/7/2025 10:02am Anything you want to keep secret should not have any GPS data even recorded at all from your watch/Garmin/phone. Record it as a strength workout with GPS off. I don't trust Strava to even have the data held on their servers even if my ride is private and hidden from the heat map. Every tech company eventually grossly misuses private data and I expect Strava to be no different. (especially after they IPO)
