12/18/2025 1:50pm Hello @thegromit , Nice that you started using the system! Ouch for the broken part, but don't worry... our uniballs are removable, so not a big issue! With other sensors, you'd be throwing this it in the trash can (or using alternative/creative mounting options), but with our design, you'll just need to unscrew the remaining part of the broken uniball and replace it with a brand new uniball! Feel free to send me an email at: enrico@bybtech.it so we can arrange the replacement. Best, Enrico

12/15/2025 9:23am Ya there are a couple levels here. At the end of the day you can do stuff to damage your brand, such that people who maybe were never considering you or didn't know much about you yet have then decided to write you off for good. For me the prime example is Ari. A brand i had ZERO opinion on for a while. Seemed like they were ok bikes, ok prices. Nothing good or bad. But after seeing their astro turfing fiasco plus the general way they handle social media and stuff... That's a hard no for me, and we...

12/12/2025 9:43am Pros.. A T-type DH drivetrain should be more durable. The most vulnerable part is now smaller and replaceable. Cons.. Cost. I agree, a GX DH setup would be my choice. Maybe throw on a XO shifter if I wanted to splurge a bit. Spending the extra money on things that are more important for DH. Crazy/ stupid idea.. With 148 showing up on more DH bikes, how about singlespeed with a Classified rear hub?

12/11/2025 2:57pm Not tech rumors, but soil tech history! The difference between Oregon, WA and BC is all about ice. Kilometer+ thick ice sheets created glacial terrain features and exposed more bedrock from Washington State north. Oregon didn't get the sweet, sweet ice sheet remodeling. The maximum extent of the Puget Lobe of the Cordilleran Ice Sheet was Tenino, which is between Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon. In the Seattle area you have a lot of glacial till soils that the ice pushed around. Further north the ice scraped away soils and smoothed the bedrock, making terrain for amazing tech riding. This...

12/8/2025 12:16pm This might be hopium on my part, but the GenAI bubble finally bursting. Edit: I'm only thinking of the LLM industry here, rather than machine learning broadly. Incidentally I dislike the term "AI" in general because it's so vague. The behavioural scripting of adversaries in video games right from the very start of video gaming to now is still called "AI", after all. Anyway I've already gone far enough off topic...

12/3/2025 10:56am When I started this thread years ago (under an old username that I got locked out of... Still bummed about that @sspomer ) I never would have imagined to surpass 100 pages, let alone a thousand! Since I started the thread as a senior in high school, I have gone from a shop rat with too much free time to an industry employee who is bound by NDA's. I've had to keep my mouth and keyboard quiet on a ton of subjects, some of which have been pretty accurate to the ideas tossed around! I hope someday bike companies will...

12/3/2025 10:54am Following a single thread was very convenient. Probably why this thread was so successful. Can we just start a single new thread - tech rumors 2025 or whatever?
