A bit more information available on Bikes.com: https://bikes.com/en-ca/pages/new-acquisition-faq Headquarters are indeed staying out East, but moving from Saint-Georges to the Montreal area. Here's also a bit more information regarding the group of 4 new owners: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/a-new-era-for-rocky-mountain-a…

TL;DR, Fox reported and things are going as planned. No big red flags. Stock is up 9% after hours ontop of an additional 5% intraday. Management was quick to point out inventories are stabilizing and the bike industry might be voyaging into calmer waters, which frankly surprised me. The tariff thing is an overhang, but it feels more like the overhang has to do with the potential we end up in a recession, consumer confidence/spending softens and nobody is buying stuff - they have their ops pretty buttoned up for this sort of thing (it appears). If anyone wants the...

I agree. That sentence is bizarre. I'm weirded out by the implication that choosing a longer or shorter chainstay length would be a compromise, but somehow choosing a 438mm chainstay length isn't a compromise? Every geometry decision you make on a bike represents a compromise. They're all trade-offs. Either that, or Canyon and friends have stumbled upon the Platonic ideal of the form "chainstay length." We're all in the cave over here, but at Canyon they've unshackled and transcended bodily existence to discovered the one true form of bike geometry. So meta of them.

Insertion depth is usually a frame specific dimension, but in my experience frame manufacturers follow what the headset drawing requires plus a small buffer, usually a 2-3mm, for ream depth. Head tubes tend to be butted internally so the ID gets slightly bigger after the press fit interface. You should be able to see where the ream ends and measure...

The FSA headset catalog will be your best resource here. They have drawings for all their headsets. Also, if you have enough material, you can shave the head tube down with a facing tool to remove some of the damage.

One of my favourite things about this thread is the the mix of people commenting. One one hand people who seem to have behind the scenes knowledge vaguely referring to things they know to be true but can't say, and people with no idea of the actual details confidently stating things they have no direct knowledge of. This is what keeps me coming back. Keep it coming

Yeah its definitely not cast. Im guessing they (radoxx who machines them) has a wide block of billet aluminium, and machine out several rough forks, and then put each one through the operations in a 5axis machine The "legs" also have way rougher machining marks than the normal forks do, most likely since its one piece, they cant put the legs in a lathe, but rather has to have the cnc machine swivel around the leg to remove material. I believe they also use the regular steerer pressed in like the other forks. Will be a limited edition run, orders...

I left Felt before that one was developed. I designed almost half of their bikes through 2010: the first AR, DA, Bayonet, and aluminum TK bikes were mine. BMX's, Beach Cruisers, MTB's all sorts. Working on their 6-bar link suspension bike is probably what lead me to design my 3ish bar link bike because more links = more problems.

Intend make a press in version of what you're describing. Pressing this in is likely much easier than threading: Also I'm sure this was un intended, but I got a laugh from this, maybe you'll find it funny too: @JVP words: "... can't be patented, let's make a standard..." @JVP picture: "Copyright...All Rights Reserved"

I'll never forget grabbing a older bladder I thought I'd tossed that I'd filled with a Redbull/vodka/OJ Mix I used at a music festival for three days straight in the hot sun and then it likely sat for 9 months with water, in it after trying to clean it out, having likely thrown out the fresh one I'd picked up to replace it by accident after using it once. The first swing tasted weird and the second one I puked and went home. Take care of your water containers
