Wow, a rare tariff supporter on the vital forums. I think it is actually an OK view to have, if you don't want global trade and the benefits that come with it, that's fine. Just be prepared to accept lower quality, more expensive goods, and worse work for the average person because now you need to man the manufacturing and textile plants yourselves.

I agree on premise. The point I was trying to make in a previous post is that it’s not appropriate to compare the business models of Maxxis and Chipotle wrt SKU count. In manufacturing/factory business models there is cost associated with producing a good AND not producing a good – both from a financial metric and a game-theoretic perspective. This can lead to production recommendations that are not intuitive to those unfamiliar with manufacturing calculus, but still translate to higher profit. Crazy news from Portland, Oregon: longtime MTB anchor Fat Tire Farm is closing after 40 years in business. For me, this news felt like it came out of nowhere.
