No, definitely not just tuning via the base valve. But it is modified from stock for all the options being tested. The stock base valve setup on the Bomber CR/Fox Van is quite stiff and uses belleville washers. All three tuning options (Avalanche Racing, Fluid Focus, and Shockcraft) remove the belleville washers and convert the base valve to a more traditional shim stack. All three use different base valve tunes, and Avalanche uses a different needle for the bleed (LSC clicker) as well. Fluid Focus and Shockcraft both use a different main piston, while Avalanche uses the stock main piston...

I have been riding my 2026 Rallon with both a podium and a 46mm offset Boxxer C1 and it's surprising how generally similar they are. The Boxxer is still great even though it's a 6ish year old fork at this point. I have the stock 62.5 stroke Float X2 as well as a 75 stroke Super Deluxe C1 coil that I have been switching between. I did a ride a few weeks ago that had around 1200m of climbing with the Boxxer and other than the limited turn radius (rarely an issue) it was a totally acceptable experience. I am...

That’s some good mathing Robot! I was there a total of 13 years across two separate stints of 5 and 8 years. It’s a long fucking time to do anything! My wife landed her dream job which required a relocation to Nashville. I’m enjoying some time as a stay at home dog dad and slowly figuring out what’s next!

Those are tires from the Specialized race tire lab with blank sidewalls. Specialized dropping their Radial tires by/at Sea Otter. Loic and Finn have likely been on custom casings for a while. Might not be full consumer Radial as those guys like a particular casing (used only in the Cannibal).

I ordered that POC helmet (Cularis Pure). There are two different Visors in the box. One thats closed, one with holes for airflow and you can use the helmet without visor for more aero or for the approvement of the gravel-style-police. I thougth it's quite nice. Sadly my head and POC do not fit very well.

The only thing I noticed was that the photos on the “new” tires have no sidewall graphics/logo. So seems either there some updated graphics coming that’ll be uploaded at a later time, or there’s some new casings and there are all place holders for a drop soon.

Wonder what will happen with that product. Joe Breeden himself seem to be doing some product development with Wolftooth. Picture from MBUK

Back at it again with my horrendous image measurements, this time something actually bicycle related. I took the shock eye to eye of 225mm and zoomed in super close to align it to the centre of the shock bolts and scaled the image until the measurement was exactly 225. I drew a line to the middle of the shimano crank spindle and the middle of the rear thru-axle (also zoomed in until my eyes were bleeding to estimate the centre as best as possible). I then measured the horizontal distance between the two points (used construction lines to make this...

Paul Aston has done this for his crazy long bikes. The idea being that bb drops were used to add stability to bikes when they were shorter/steeper, so when you’re getting that stability from the wheelbase, larger wheels, etc. you can reduce the bb drop to gain some agility back. For 32” bikes I can see the benefit of this...

Very good look for higher pivot frameworks from vital g-out pics. can see at neko's bike the main pivot way above the chainring, while on gwin's bike its lower and behind chainring/guard. also noticed gwin had no chain but running ochain, maybe wanting to repeat leogang? that must feel amazing!!
