5/4/2026 7:38am I've been to Primoz' neck of the woods and would like to add that: You should absolutely go to that neck of the woods to ride if you get a chance. Primoz raced cross country for years before switching to longer travel bikes, and was fitter than me when we rode together. He's a great host and I cannot recommend Bled Cream Cake enough. However, I would not recommend eating it right before a 87 F/31 C mountain bike ride with Primoz. Primoz, I'm still right about heavier tire casings and softer compound. Fight me. Most power-based training plans emphasize...

4/26/2026 8:27am Quoting measurements to 0.01mm on an aluminium mountain bike frame; they are very very over confident in the manufacturing capability of the factory.

4/23/2026 3:01pm i've seen a bunch of kids in our area out on various forms of emotos (eg things with a throttle) note here: this is on the streets, not the trails. while i have started seeing more and more of them wearing helmets (good!) i've also seen an increasing percentage of them riding like absolute assbags with complete disregard to anything...

4/23/2026 11:46am also went with too much stiffness here. i'm a bigger guy and still ride fairly hard. i also started riding in the mid 90s when bikes and components were often made from spaghetti

4/22/2026 11:14am Good questions! I had a great conversation with Kiran MacKinnon of Santa Cruz Bikes at Sea Otter (and it should be published as a podcast at some point), and he said that because e-bike frames have to be so much stiffer than pedal bikes, taking the motor and battery out basically produces a bike that rides like a block of wood (i.e. overly stiff and harsh over bumps). That doesn't mean that an e-bike with the motor removed is unridable (i.e. Martin Maes racing DH on the e-Wild frame as a development project for the new Rallon DH bike), but...

4/22/2026 10:00am No, the Scott engineers are furious because Specialized added so many new links but didn't seal them inside the frame. They're yelling at their screen right now, "Just make it look like a pregnant whale! It's so easy!"
