4/14/2026 10:14am I just really hope they’re not sacrificing the whole industry for a few good quarters because that’s kinda what it feels like with them flirting with higher and higher power numbers.

4/14/2026 10:12am Curmudgeon moment incoming, my apologies: This is exactly the reason I don't give a shit about motocross or cars or a million other things. I 100% don't give a shit about numbers. "Oh, but this one can do 150nm of power!" Cool. I don't care. I don't ride a bike looking for the easiest way to do anything. Does it do 150nm of making my will to live stronger? Will it do a 30-second boost mode of shutting my brain off? Is it 1300W of power that'll die in a year and completely brick the bike for two months while...

4/14/2026 6:46am I've always though Cushcore was missing a good April 1 jab with green trash cans. Or honestly as a real promo most shops would take a green trash bin. #realorfake

4/10/2026 6:58am My comment "idler goes on swingarm" was a gross over simplification. An important point of context about the itrack patent is that the application was submitted in 2013. 26" wheeled dh bikes were still mainstream.

4/9/2026 2:14pm I’m pretty sure the guy that has the I-track patent lets anyone use it as long as they put a sticker on the bike. What is bullshit about that? Genuinely curious.

4/4/2026 12:49pm Last year, for one of my engineering classes I did a simulation in Ansys titled “The influence of the axle diameter on the torsional stiffness in an USD bicycle fork”. It was an exercise more focused on Ansys, not on being scientific, but still the results were interesting. Here’s a link to the presentation . TLDR: 20mm was only 4% stiffer

4/4/2026 9:09am There's a good thread already going on this topic. Basically that hub design/configuration has more impact on stiffness of an inverted fork than axle diameter. https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/enginerding-inverted-forks-and-fron…
