10/6/2023 12:55pm I mean, the official solution is to set the preload correctly, which is step 1 in the manual of every coil shock. I just point out that you’re probably fine if you choose negligence instead.

10/5/2023 4:40pm rampage bikes from propain here https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/red-bull-rampage-bikes-cust… have we seen an inverted fork at rampage since early 2000s dorado or shiver or avalanche (wasn't lance canfield on an avalanche back in the day?)? stoked to see one (ok, two) again.

10/5/2023 4:40pm Ooooh I don't think the finished to market bike will honestly look anything like this. I got a Hunch they are doing what Intense did with that mega rocker bike from last year. This Current mule from specialized is just providing answers for specialized I reckon . At best the chainstay will be what sticks around as it's tuneable flex but there is just no way that linkage is gonna hang out like an old man's nuts on the final design.

10/4/2023 3:15am Another dual susp frame from Suspensin Smith in FB Quote " New prototype Dual front suspension system on a Specialized Kenevo comp....this combines a Fox 36 single crown 130mm fork with a Girder type link system and a Fox float DPS air shock giving another 55mm of travel for a total of 185mm travel. EDIT: In answer to peoples asking Why and what does it do. This suspension system does a few things completely new and different to any other system made to date. Because it is a dual hybrid of a telefork and a linkage suspension system working together...

10/4/2023 3:09am I love my 3 sets of Berd spoked wheels and highly recommend them for many applications. That said, for my big hitting bike I choose to go with standard steel spokes for the rear. Berd spokes tend to feel a fair bit looser at times and also seem to get a bit sacked out with use. And I'm no Pro. Wouldn't have anything but Berds on my Trail/ XC bikes, but for a DH bike, I'd choose otherwise. If I had to build a new AM/ Enduro wheel set not certain what I'd do. Probably Berds though.

10/3/2023 6:51am Yea, I was speaking towards the casing/sidewall prototype. But I actually raced both of them, I swapped halfway through the day. The Mudslayer(not the actual name) was also super good.

10/3/2023 6:48am They're very new still and might take a while to understand if they are up to the task, it would also make wheel rebuilds very tough during a race weekend as rims are basically expected to be disposable!

10/3/2023 6:48am Don't they take a lot longer to lace up than traditional spokes? Given how often wc mechanics have to lace wheels to begin with, any extra time in that process is probably a non-starter.

10/2/2023 2:50pm I’ve been curious about something.. How come DH racers aren’t running the rope spokes?? Seems like they would help in the compliance department. Could it be that the teams don’t have a good understanding of them yet in regards to fine tuning or are they too fragile? I’m sure I’m missing the obvious not hopefully someone can enlighten me

10/2/2023 2:42pm Lots of teams on Maxxis & DT not getting flats. Just like Vergier alluded to on WynTV, a semi-final RACE & final RACE run on the Snowshoe track is asking ALOT of rider & equipment. There are a dozen things to pop a rear tire that revolve around the equipment (rim/tire/suspension path/psi/temp/carcass/damper settings). But almost every time, it's rider inputs. Most every flat is legs extended or compressed and the rim/tire taking an impact that it cannot defend at any number of angles from any number of objects. Gwin flatted in a mud hole at Ft. Bill last year. GM...

9/29/2023 4:48am That rocker link definitely has early intense prototype vibes. Makes sense since they were utilizing his CBF formula.

9/29/2023 4:35am All great info! Thanks for demystifying this for me a little. Sounds like the bottom post (#15 in the diagram) has to be matched with the travel reducer to keep the check valve assembly from bottoming out in the shock body. Figure 34 at the end really shows how things are lined up inside the shock

9/20/2023 5:58am I saw a guy promoting Lewis Bike brakes on several Facebook groups. They have a website now. lewisbike.com The 4 piston brake: It might look familiar, as Trickstuff has a similar design, but there are some differences, improvements. They have bite reach and bite point adjustment. I've asked why they don't offer grip holes at the lever blade, the answer I got was: ''We thought that would make the blade not strong enough.'' Also I've been told they offer spare parts. Cut out of lever body: They also have a trails/xc brake: Flat mount calipers to:
