4/6/2026 11:02pm I forget where I heard it, but supposedly these new Dominions are launching at the Sea Otter and are pumping....MINERAL OIL! 😲If true, that is actually a plus for me, but I know it is a very contentious topic and will alienate a lot of existing users and DOT fans.

4/6/2026 6:53pm Sounds like a skill issue. Anyway, there's a thread for you to whine about brakes in. Your comments add nothing about tech rumors.

4/6/2026 1:44pm The lever throw is pretty easily adjustable when you're setting them up... There's a grub screw behind the lever blade. I shortened mine up once, and the start/ bite point is much closer to the grips.... they've remained consistent for years. I personally find the Dominion power much easier to modulate than Shimanos as well, especially given that you could never tell when Shimanos from M8000/81000 series would actually bite.

4/5/2026 2:49pm You know aside from the carbon, the shock layout, the yoke, the tube diameter, the paint work, the branding, the build, it's pretty much a knolly.

4/4/2026 7:58am This is spot on. I have probably 5000 miles on Megatower V1 and 2000 miles on V2. The SC lower link VPP bike have a "simple" but effective kinematic that can highlight differences in shock characteristics and performance. Shorter travel bikes seem to typically be optimized around a single shock and base tune, when you deviate from that it's uncharted waters. You might end up with something really good or something bad. From a philosophical standpoint I think more MTB journalism outlets need to dial in on this. Testing different shocks on different frames with different riders is a huge...

4/3/2026 6:56am Matt Beer rides a nomad 6. That has been their go-to for shock testing since they completed their "shock week" series of testing 3ish years ago. There are rumors of a new long travel SC bike and there have been spy shots of some aluminum vpp mules. Fwiw, I have a nomad 6 and I've done a lot of shock testing on it myself (5 different shocks) and it is a great platform for shock testing for a variety of reasons.

4/3/2026 6:55am There have been prototypes kicking around for a couple years. Max Grayston (motomaxcanada IG handle) posted some pretty clear pics of it last year. Glad to hear it's finally coming!
