3/20/2026 10:55pm Nah. Top tube straight continuous to seat stays is very 2020. Now it’s all about the grasshopper. Steep down tube to low flat chainstay. And I’m all for it. Maybe your right, straight line is industrial design where grasshopper, is sex. as long as no one does steeper chainstays than top tube. 🤮

3/19/2026 7:16pm A lot of people use these kinds of bikes for XC races. Some races like XCOs probably no one carries anything. Other races like Moab Rocks probably most people are carrying something on at least one of the days because the risk of a flat tire is so high racing mostly blind with XC tires in Moab. Other races like BCBR require you to carry certain things (but they don’t enforce it). The big advantage of the on bike storage vs just having everything in your jersey pocket/camelbak is it helps keep you cooler, which keeps your performance up. Like...

3/19/2026 7:16pm I would think its just a case of moving the BB forward relative to the pivot points, similar to what the did on the V1 dread? That way the stays and rocker can all be the same across all models. Also means the (actual) lever arm from the axle to the shock is the same across all models, meaning FEA may not be need to be re done on the rear end for each front triangle size. Just my semi-educated guess.

3/19/2026 4:25pm So, the current Maven now has the same size pistons as the Maven Base. The new SwingLink requires less force to actuate the lever, but in return leads to more throw in the lever. By default the BRZ/BSE levers have the contact point setting effectively set at the tightest/least lever throw setting as I assume Sram doesn't intentionally leave the primary seal far away from the reservoir port. The contact point adjuster on the SLV/ULT levers just enables you to adjust the lever for more throw as you can't have the primary seal go over the reservoir port as it...

3/19/2026 12:46pm Frame storage DOES add weight. A tube is a pretty amazing piece of a construction element. Lightand stiff in multiple directions, in torsion and bending, bending left and right AND up and down. The problem is the moment you cut into it, while a small hole won't really affect things that much, a long slit will though, you're breaking all of it. So to make a downtube with a big hole cut into it to be able to fit things inside of it, you need to add a lot of material around the rim to bring back the stiffness. A...
