I'm guessing that the Bernard in Indonesia thing means that for some reason the Enduro points aren't counting for the team rankings? Pivot have a pretty strong showing in EDR or have I missed something? Did I hear somewhere that only the world champs in Enduro give UCI points ? Just watching BKs vlog from the event and it looks really cool and it's great for the organizer's and riders that a couple of world cup riders are there but from a world cup qualification perspective, the idea that getting a top result there is worth more than a 31st...

Without Marine, Scott factory team won't have near enough points to be among the top 15 in the team ranking.

After listening to Vojo mag: lunch time podcast with Alex Rudeau (in French), it appears the first ever enduro world champion is going into 2025 without team support, on his own program. He’s also not planning to race all World Cup races. He tells that most of the edr racers are on same as he is, except a few big names, like Jesse Melamed, that are keeping some team support but at a way smaller scale. And others, like Martin Maes, are turning full downhill. An other point thing discussed is that some top enduro racers are coordinating to pack...

I'm pretty sure the fine print was for an elite win. Otherwise Neko would zip tie a gearbox onto asa's bike and split it with him lol

Reece Wilson in new pinkbike video (advertorial), about belt driven bike prize money. No trek kit, just a lotus hat. I'd say it gives even more credibility to the Gamux team rumour. https://youtu.be/VZJfXHECfiY?si=XCAj0TI2IT8hl93p

Living in a country where we have to travel to ski/snowboard if I break it down to participation hours biking is way cheaper than winter sport holidays. I'd be budgeting £1000 per week for a trip to the Alps. I don't know about other countries, but neither I, nor the majority of my riding buddies are anywhere near what I would perceive as upper middle class, most of us are firmly working class and have the spending power of that level. Granted we are wealthy on a global scale, as are most people in the 1st world, but within the...

Somewhere in the last 20 years readers here lost track of the sport's trajectory. We are firmly in upper-middle class sporting territory. Being a young sport ( Performance MTB ) many of us came from various socioeconomic backgrounds to make it happen in the 90s but now that landscape is quite different. I would argue we almost surpassed skiing as the well-to-do hobby for people with money to spend.

One of the most important things in rich people hobbies is having even richer people to get mad at. You and I, we spent what we had to…a dollar more is way too much! And truly: imagine not helping your child pursue their dreams. “Well yeah she loves it, but who gives a shit! We’re going to make her stay home watch the kitchen remodel.” Question: how many people have retired from DH in the black? I’m guessing hmm zero

Right or wrong, I think some of it comes down to the fact that nobody else on that hill could have done Brandon’s run. Meanwhile, Syzmon and Adolf had identical tricks on two of their biggest contributing features and three people flipped Price is Right. That being said, for the first time ever I’m not convinced they got the top three correct. But if they re-ordered them in any combination I think I’d say the same thing. My other notes, Brendan is too special and too rad to be confined by Rampage. I don’t know how you score him (objectively...

I totally agree R120. I would rather see super gnarly and burly lines ridden aggressively then a "trick combo" off a slopestyle type hit. TMac went huge on that canyon gap and appeared to be hoping to just hang on, no thought of throwing a trick. The same for BDog on those step technical lines, no option for a trick, just praying to ride it out. To me, that is the soul of Rampage.

What's weird is they scored Tmack highly for what was a freeride run with minimal tricks, but then they saw Brendogs run and decided they couldn't care less anymore. The progression is crazy though, half the riders were doing backflips over 50ft+ drops. That used to win rampage and set you up for an entire career. Terrified to see what the level will be in the future.

it really is a shame considering there are slope style and 'big air' events all year from crankworx to fest series to nines on and on etc but realistically there is only ONE rampage... and it may never return to its free riding, natural, and raw roots. to the extent i dont think any event covers the same type of riding. but i guess thats what truly makes it free riding. events and sponsors dont wanna touch it. core lord lifestyle :/
