1/17/2024 5:20am It sounded like every bearing on one bike were representing the Rice Krispy mascots. It looked pretty new so I was surprised. The lack internal housing routing is also terrible. You have to take the thing apart, It's required to do basic work. Other companies have solved this with internal sleeves so I have a hard time understanding why Scott when full stupid when they designed these bikes as "integrated designs" but didn't full integrate the routing to help manage the complexity.

1/17/2024 5:20am What you should be concerned with are the trash RC CAR bearings they use for all the pivots (yes, even the main pivots) once my bud saw his fancy bike in pieces waiting for the replacements (which you’d be relieved to know aren’t common bike sizes) and he realized how small they were…. He turned to the tech (who i had indeed just handed a beer and pre roll to- out of respect and sympathy) and said: “sheesh, that’s why they didn’t last 3 months” ……

1/16/2024 11:38am Increasing rotor mass increases thermal capacity, that works both for thicker and/ or larger diameter rotors. Generally this is a positive but taken to the extreme it can mean that the pads and rotors don't reach effective operating temperature. Think xc bike running 2.3mm thick 220 diameter rotors. For most people this isn't a problem. Thicker rotors will also feel more responsive / have less dead stroke on a lot of brakes. In my experience thicker rotors also stay true better. Larger diameter rotors also increase the leverage of the disc. This increases bite and overall power. Mountain bike disc...

1/16/2024 11:37am I think the thicker rotors have a stiffer feel when braking at the lever, larger rotors offer more bite and consistency from heat over the run. Personally I run 200 or 203 front TRP 2.3 with a pad that has less bite(like red Hope). Then 220-223 rear 2.3 rotor. Either TRP or Galfer Shark. These offer more bite and power. This combination gives me the best usable braking power. I choose for less bite in the front so I can drag the brake without locking it or knifing the front, this also keeps the suspension to pitching dramatically and losing...

1/15/2024 8:19am I agree that more damping, less spring is a better end solution. After getting a tuned Grip 2 I dropped 10psi from my setup. I've got an Ohlins rear shock on one bike and a Manitou on another. Both are more heavily damped than the fox shocks they replaced. The only downside to Ohlins rear shocks is the inability to do a basic air can service without fully opening the shock.

1/15/2024 8:06am I am going to spell it out for everyone here that has less experience with Trolls. Someone is purposefully saying silly things to rile you up, just ignore it. Do not reply. Not even a little bit. Just let the stupid comment die in the wind. Then it wont be fun for them anymore and maybe, if we are lucky, we can move on with our lives

1/15/2024 5:17am I know there exists a video in which Aaron Gwin says his physical strength is the only thing holding him back in going faster so I would not say that strengthy is underrated at all

1/15/2024 5:17am Lol. If anything strength is very underrated in DH. Half the times people crash is because they crumple and lose body position when going fast. Getting stronger improves everything. You don't have to be powerlifting strong, but stronger is better

1/14/2024 2:58pm Grip2’s biggest flaw is that the HSC adjustment does nothing. Watch the Vorsprung video in the 38 if you don’t believe me. However you might want open up on the LSR because on the Grip2 too much will cause harshness as it acts as a choke/orifice on the mid valve the more you add.
