1/29/2024 10:48am Good spot there, had not checked the site. Burgtec still listed on there as a lower tier sponsor (judging by the size and position), I guess they are still a supplier for saddles and other bits that they can't get from Oneup

1/24/2024 1:12pm Well you are correct that a carbon frame can have alignment issues but I think what Neko is referring too is that warpage and the misalignment issues that result from welding is are more severe and harder to overcome manufacturing wise than something that comes out of a mold like Carbon. A post machining process on a jig would solve these issues in either method of course. My big concern with CFRP in a non Aerospace application like Bicycle frames is definitely QC because as you pointed out, there is countless ways to f-up such a labor intensive process like...

1/24/2024 7:11am Against better judgement, I will jump in. I'm not "wanting my mountain bike to be a moto". But I do want my mountain bike to work well. When it comes to "working well" there are so many things that crossed over from mountain biking with much success its absolutely incredible. For fun, go look at a mountain bike around 2000. Now go look at a moto. Yes, there have been changes to both, but which one looks more like it did in 2000s trim? Hell the YZ250 is the exact same bike as it was in 2005 as it is...

1/24/2024 7:05am Watch how well moto USD forks handle chunky awful slickrock type terrain. The bikes float (and they aren't even mega tuned or anything, pretty off the shelf if i remember right). Russell is a freak for riding this in under an hour. ...and because I can't help but post it. Mario Roman from Romaniacs a few years ago. This is bonkers.

1/24/2024 6:12am I think the decision may come down to bar height. I'm slightly shorter than you but with crazy long ape index and have found 440 reach to be at my outer limits for and enduro or DH bike set up (longer travel fork is the big key here) as you will never run your bars super low. I love my small Ibis Ripley with 425 reach for trail riding - but the fork is only 140 travel so I can run my bars really low (5mm spacer with 15mm rise) and make the cockpit roomy enough. On my enduro and...

1/24/2024 5:40am Adam Brayton said it was too powerful and they shelved it… apparently. A real shame as it might have tempted me back to them. There’s no such thing as too powerful- just pull the lever less

1/24/2024 5:40am Anyone seen these from Lewis brakes? Can an 8-piston brake for Surron mean, for example, a lighter6-piston version for MTBs or e-MTBs?
Still wondering why Hope stopped working on the new version of the 6-pot 2-3 years ago with all the positive feedback they received from the testing guys…

1/22/2024 6:09pm The latest PB podcast with Jessie Melamed goes into tolerance issues. Carbon frames coming out of the mold with minor differences (a couple millimeters here and there). And why two “identical” bikes aren’t riding exactly the same. Well worth a listen.
