I remember saying, almost word for word : "I will never own a bike that has 29" wheels. I don't see 29" growing in marketshare anyway". Today I've got some 29" wheeled bikes (and like them) and it's coming really difficult to find cheap and good 27,5" wheels. Same for Boost. And the exact opposite for Shimano Rapid Rise (yes, I'm beginning to get old). So we'll see for SuperBoost. Not to mention 29ers came. Then it went. Then it came to stay.

Bikes are really freaking good these days. It is not going to be a revelation each time a brand launches or updates a bike. The tagline Vital put to it was: "Subtle but significant changes keep the all-mountain ripper alive and well." Meaning it is an update, not a whole new bike or platform. Were you hoping for 200mm travel, 90 degree STA, 45 degree HA, and 23 pounds? For the last decade it seems that every bike is lower, longer, and slacker. That only works to a point. Bikes have settled into pretty great categories. At this point the...

What happened to Scott making light bikes? I realize it's ballpark with other bikes in its intended use category, but, Scott bikes used to be a good 2-3lbs lighter than the competition. I feel like a certain percentage of riders who purchased Scott bikes in the past were willing to look past their quirky features/integration because they were lightest in their respective categories.

I wholly agree with nixing 203 rotors. It's easy enough to space out a 200mm mount to accept a 203 rotor, but obviously not the reverse. Headset routing, while not a standard in the truest sense, removes any desire for me to break out the credit card. Definitely in the minority with this one, but I am onboard with supa boost. Currently have bikes with 142 (cross), 148(trail and freeride), and 157 spacing (hardtail/fat). The hardtail's rear wheels have needed the least amount of truing of the lot, and it's been ridden on much of the same terrain as the...

SO HARD TO PICK Headset cable routing dies forever. Passing a law that all stems and handlebars have to be two-piece on new bikes (you can buy your stupid one-piece bar/stem combos aftermarket if you want them so bad). All mountain bikes run a 73mm BSA BB. Downhill bike engineers, see next bulletpoint if you're worried about chainlines. One front and rear axle standard for all mountain bikes. It could be 15x110 and 12x148 and it would be amazing. It's easy to build downhill forks with too much torsional stiffness (see: OG Fox 40), so you don't really need a...

Not really what you are asking for, but I would like to see existing standards paired down. BSA BB, 148mm boost, 31.6 Seatpost, 50mm(or 52mm) chain line. Edit to add 203/223 rotors need to go away Yes to external cable routing.

15mm fork axles. Bring back 20mm for single crown (Intend leading the way there as ever) Everything else I can live with (for the most part) as there are always several options to chose from.

I'd kill 203/223mm rotors. 200/220 is the way.

Knolly’s marketing email this morning said announcement coming Feb 1. Probably the Chilcotin, although the Fugitive is also due for the straight top tube treatment
