11/26/2025 7:28am If your definition of making money in a cushy fashion is 4 days work for minus £40 and comments like this, then I must be that hanger on using mountain bikers for my benefit. Just to be clear, this was my decision to do this interview and I'm not unhappy about doing that at my cost. YT just covered the bulk of the travel to enable us to do it in-person, which I think provides not only a better quality audio and video experience for you all, but also makes the conversation flow better. This doesn't in any way change...

11/21/2025 11:12am I actually think the Jab pricing is pretty good when you think about long term ownership. If I ever swap frames/bikes and want to change between a Sram and Shimano set-up, your incremental cost is not a whole new derailleur but just the cam. I feel like there is a longer term relationship with these product that I am all...

11/21/2025 9:34am This is rad... of course I'm a bit biased as a Kavenz owner myself, but I've been pretty stoked with what they're doing as a small frame manufacturer.

11/21/2025 9:19am Back to crab related rumours. Kavenz has started prototyping their VHP V8 which will be carbon tube and cnc’d lugs. They will be posting a series following along with all the details, similar to what they did when they created the first version of their frame.

11/19/2025 9:06am This also reminds me... I just saw Brian Cahal's video pop up in youtube recommended when he was 'paid' to do a press trip review of the new Decoy release (literally so close to the bankruptcy its kinda hilarious) And there was a small quip in one of his videos about how he'd love to get his trip/flight/something reimbursed by YT eventually. Anyone close to him able to confirm? Would love to hear if like he got paid but a single thing was left out or if he got completely rinsed on the entire trip by YT or what. Or...

11/18/2025 9:43am That proto frame goes way back. I shot this photo of it in the early fall of 2023. Sorry for poor quality. The obvious heel rub and linkage swap-out (on your more current photo) shows it's seen a lot of hours. The guy riding it started working for a different bike company, so he may have offloaded this one to another industry friend. At the time, I was thinking it was maybe a Diamondback prototype that got canceled/never saw the light of day. He was fairly open with it; it was spotted at local Seattle area watering hole(s), etc.

11/17/2025 8:20am Oh boy. It will be interesting to see how this goes. I did some digging and I obviously don't speak German nor am I well versed in German bankruptcy proceedings but what appears to have happened is the old YT Industries (HRB 8353) is in an insolvency proceedings with debts parked there and the new YT (12277) is controlled by Flossman and is taking over the brand and operations. This most certainly means the creditors take a (big) haircut, equity (of prior company) is completely wiped (private equity marks the company to 0) and the "new" company is buying assets...

11/13/2025 8:39am Fair. You make some points. Yes back to rumors. I dont know if its anything, but the standard Trance on Giants website is kind of missing. All they have are framesets. Also not a bad price for the frame I gotta say.

11/11/2025 10:07pm just to clear it up, JKW killed his first podium due to user error, loading 2 bikes on a rack such that the pedal of one was rubbing the podium stanchion. It sounds like the replacement one is also leaking now, thus he's back on a Z1 for the time being. fwiw, my podium hasn't had any issues with oil leakage, though I'm certainly not beating on it to the extent he is. On pricing for lower legs, idk how available those are retail yet but msrp from Fox is 263$ a leg for factory and 210$ for performance. It's...

11/11/2025 1:43pm Resident Korean resident here 1. Things to do on bikes... RIDE!!! The race weekend is also the start of the bike park season locally. There are three parks within an hour of each other, two within five minutes. Alpensia Bike Park is literally right next to Yongpyong. The parks here a different from Europe, smaller and still growing. Wellihilli is further west at lower altitude and has fun runs. You could also ride in/near Seoul. We ride year round here and the outskirts of Seoul have some fantastic singletrack. Even some rock slabs with epic views on the eastern edge...

11/6/2025 12:45pm I like the trend of bikes coming out with adjustable dropouts to change rear center lengths. It's been fun playing around with different dropout lengths with my Kavenz and it looks like Banshee, Crestline and Transition (with their new bottlerocket) have something similar going on. I wonder if eccentric bottom brackets will ever be a thing. I think a few...
