I was in the camp of thinking Orbea made a mistake not speccing the TQ HPR60 motor but now having watched Schroeder's video I can see the benefits and purity of experience that the HPR 40 motor offers. The idea of having a bike that climbs like an XC bike but can charge DH and give a good pedaling workout is perfect. Honestly it has made me want to go buy one right now and just having had a 50th birthday with the go ahead from the CEO for a 12k bike budget I just might! I do think Orbea...

Figured I'd share my new Levo SL since I got it built up in time for my up coming trips. Longggg back story: I rode an alloy Stumpjumper 15 the past year that weighed between 37.5-40.5 lbs depending on parts. It definitely made me stronger haha but overall I loved how hard I could ride the bike and still pedal it without blowing myself up. My experience with the ext ARMA mirrors this article. It’s been absolutely excellent, head and shoulders above the dhx2 it replaced. Great to hear the Vecta performs at a similar level but a couple hundred cheaper.

While better than/worse than is always comparative, I think when we start narrowing down what discipline of riding is relevant, we can start to have more productive conversations of cs balance without boiling it down to preference. I mean, we can take either to the extreme and say it starts being a bad thing. Nobody wants a 450 reach and a 650 cs. Nobody wants a 450 reach and a 300 cs. When we're talking the big mountain stuff that's relevant to the bikes at hand, something pulling 160+ numbers, we can assume it's going to be made for steeper...

Reece Wilson on the BMB Raised Reversed stem https://youtu.be/Lv2dSlxHPYA?si=9cXbgcvrMo0CXnfR Reece certainly has a bit of history with kooky setups, but pairing that stem with a large reach and chain stay certainly makes a lot more sense than just putting it on your normal bike. Not something that many people can easily test, but maybe something that if he does well on it, it might make more people who do have easy access to bikes of different sizing might try.

I just picked up a fox podium as a loaner for a month to try out. I just got my first ride on it this morning. Initial impressions are quite positive and I was pretty surprised by how sensitive it was, bordering on how my 38 with v2 smashpot feels in terms of willingness to move under small chatter.
