It is really cyclical with Commencal, all their early bikes cracked, then around 2015-2020 they had a great run of overbuilt bikes (at least the metas), now we seem to be back in a period of every bike cracks...

On page 10 of this thread, notanengineer said: " my take is that rad and rad angle are more important than front rear ratio” I think that’s wrong not just for the reasons that folks replied with but also because Lee (the guy who invented the concept of RAD/RAAD) is designing bikes with extremely low front/rear ratios. (Brian Cahal is the public face of the Long Chainstay Gang, Dave Weagle is a famous member of the 430mm Is More Than Enough Clan.)

Maybe this has been mentioned before, but I saw Finn and Loic in Queenstown this week in head-to-toe Alpinestars (both in the same kit). Would assume that means the team isn't wearing Specialized gear this season.

Non-issue with the gearbox at all. Been faultless for me. Changed the oil and that's it.

Sweet ride! Can i ask how the gearbox has been treating you so far? Im looking at scoring a used one right now and I know they had some issues with a batch of effigear gearboxes on the Spurs. Have you had any problems?

You cannot make a living wrenching on bikes because it is so badly paid. You cannot afford bikes because they become so expensive. You cannot keep'em working in the long run because it makes very little economic sense. It's pretty effed up really

This is so perfectly in contrast to the comments above about Hill and a sad reality of the world, ones maybe the best MTB rider ever.. won everything, not a big media guy, no endorsements. Yet somehow a 40-50 guy gets endorsement deals because he likes to talk to a camera.

Some observations from the Australian market. A lot of these seem to be in line with the industry's general problems right now, and specific problems publically acknowledged by some brands, but I wonder if there's more to it considering the small size of the ANZ market. Norco was, until recently, carried by national chain 99 Bikes. I'm interested to know which party ended that agreement. Canyon appears to have dramatically cut back its presence here. I was in the camp of thinking Orbea made a mistake not speccing the TQ HPR60 motor but now having watched Schroeder's video I can see the benefits and purity of experience that the HPR 40 motor offers. The idea of having a bike that climbs like an XC bike but can charge DH and give a good pedaling workout is perfect. Figured I'd share my new Levo SL since I got it built up in time for my up coming trips. Longggg back story: I rode an alloy Stumpjumper 15 the past year that weighed between 37.5-40.5 lbs depending on parts.
