Racers have crashed on short stems because they haven't used them with long chainstays. If you feel more comfortable on a 42,5mm stem then stick with that. I've tested -10, 10, 17 and 20mm in the last decade and I've settled on 20mm. My bike has 474mm chainstays and I have loads of front end grip.

If you want to use absolute terms, then yes, you are reading it wrong, because short chainstays were bad design decision for all the wrong reasons, just like long stems to compensate for minimal rider space on old school reach on outdated frames was a bandaid. Super short stems are nicer and natural to steer, but on bikes with short chainstays take away too much weight from the front wheel. You can compensate for that with A) longer chainstays (hard to do) B ) firmer spring/compression damping on the rear (very easy to do)

I do feel deleting from the rumours forum undermines the point of having a rumours forum.... There is a big difference between posting and article of leaked images as a industry journalist and some random person posting on a forum.

If you look at the youth in any developed country, they are getting taller. I'm 6'1 and every 18 year old male towers me in Australia it seems must be the chicken

At that price I would rather buy tairin hub for only a bit more money.

Good question. Question 1: Short answer, no. At least right now. One option you would always have is to cut your existing protection and use some 2 sided tape to glue it back on so you still have protection and you have the Chainmag. Alternatively, you could just run some clear Guerilla tape which is super good at protecting frames (this is what I personally do). Question 2: Literally started looking at this a few nights ago. My new bike came with a OneUp and there are a few really easy ways to potentially build a lower pully that easily...

Long time lurker in the forums, thought I'd finally chime in since I own an Edge. Riding background: 43yo ex middle-to-back of the pack pro. I don't take nearly the chances I used to (career and kids to think about) but I still like to ride fast and push myself. I ran a Fox 38 Factory before I purchased the Intend. I liked the support the Fox offered, but could never quite dial it in to get the sensitivity I was looking for. With the 38, I always started experiencing serious arm pump, leading me to cut riding days short...

The shock is "live" on the US Ext website: https://extusa.bike/products/ext-vecta $325 cheaper than the Storia V4. Euro pricing on the V4 is similar, so it will probably be around the same €750-775 in euros as well.

People are riding 42lb enduro bikes and love them. Lightweight bikes were a curse to the sport. So many performance compromises in pursuit of light bikes.

Plenty of people are out there pedaling dual crown forks around or converting their forks to coil. If it performs well nobody will give two shits what it weighs.

not according to intend, they had it first and found no difference, getting the upper chassis right is more important

It must be very hard to bring out new ebikes that are obsolete with the arrival of the DJI Avinoxm, all these ebikes are heavy, fat and with pregnant aesthetics. The traditional ebike industry will not start to recover at least until 2027 from this blow that DJI has given them, I see a lot of sales coming to get rid of the stock of these products.

Thanks!! That’s a shame would be ace to see one of the girls win it… especially at an enduro race where the negatives of a gearbox and belt are more evident

I'm not sure I'd agree that that is a hard and fast rule like you're saying. Either way 435 is very short no matter where in the travel. FW for example is 460 on a L, and the v10's ranges from 450-460.

Saw this on Pinkbike website Intends new ''OnePiece'' fork, Cornelius said on a video the pricing of this fork will be over €3000,-!! Also Intend showed their brand new Hover Monocoque shock, the shock body is now a one piece construction. Looks like Intend will also adding a dropper post to their line up soon.
