What edr needs most is to return to being a destination series with a focus on quality trails, experience, and a serious fitness requirement that served a purpose at the more remote rounds. It’s fine if a couple venues are regulars and a couple a year are at bike parks but what drew riders, media, and fans a like was that it was this pinnacle version of the sport to aspire too. they just keep dumbing it down into something nobody is interested in. And attaching these events to dh is severely limiting their ability to draw riders, have quality...

Let's all hope that the GOAT of Downhill can afford to retire comfortably after all these years of being at the sharp end of the sport.

My understanding is that ESO and Discovery are in partnership. Both have made statements about improving coverage for enduro. Both have failed miserably in delivering that.

Considering Enduro was ESO's baby it blows my mind how little interest they now seem to have in it.

For sure it is affecting enduro. There is no exposure for any enduro racer unless you win, never mind 2nd or 3rd. I can bet that there is some enduro racers who will make the switch to DH. Also the end of this season I think this will be the end of two relatively big enduro teams, possibly even 3 with one changing to DH.

Where did you hear that Evil may be going out of business? This is the first I've heard of such a rumor.

Not necessarily a rumor (or even an innovation for that matter), but Dave Weagle's DW-Link patent is about to expire in the US.

They stopped making the mid link (the vertical link behind the seat tube) in carbon. It's alloy only now. Supposedly that was the one that was breaking.

If we assume Specialized isn't going to change the layout, all that bike needs is subtle updates to be modernized, and they could race that bike without camo and we would be none the wiser.

Regarding the Specialized Enduro - UDH is missing at the moment, could be a problem for 2024. At least if you want to sell SWORKS bikes for 14k...

I think it could be more progressive, have a 230x65 (or at least a 65mm stroke shock) but it REALLY needs a steeper S.A.! Even in 2019, it was a bit slack... I wouldn't change anything else for the geo.

They weren’t alone at the time. Both the Megatower and Nomad ran similar strokes. As long as sag can get set properly it’s fine, but it definitely makes that harder for anyone on the heavier end. A lower leverage link for a 65 on the enduro certainly would be an interesting thing. No guarantee it can work out but definitely at least going to look at it out of curiosity.

I thought there was no way this was true, but yeah it sure seems like it. It's super sensitive to miniscule changes but there's almost no way it's actually 170mm, and if anything it's closer to 180mm. I guess sometimes it "rides like it has more travel than it does" because, well, it actually does.

I highly doubt there's a new enduro coming or it would of been raced already at EDR.

If this is true, Specialized have done an amazing job keeping it under wraps prior to the bike landing in shops. Not a single spy shot has surfaced and it's not been spotted under any of the team riders at an EWS (or whatever it's called now). Prior to the current version's release, there were a number of pics like these floating around. Did NSMB's whining have an effect?

I’m sure the enduro could be totally different but I don’t really see why it should be, from a consumer standpoint. Geo is still completely dialed 3 years after release (or 5 years I don’t really know) I have only been really into mountain bikes for like 8 years so maybe but I don’t see where they can get much better geo/kinematic wise.
