5/26/2025 7:37am I would say the bite point adjustment is visible here at the bottom. I still can't wrap my head around that thick area where the hose connects. It looks just ridiculous, and I'm really curious about the reasoning behind it. Also, what is LV Oil?

5/22/2025 8:50am New propain tyee just launched about an hour ago. Interesting to see both Ochain and Trickstuff brakes come as oem. Its this the first bike to come with Trickstuff from factory? I know there was a scott scale in limited numbers if that counts, otherwise I cant think of one. https://www.propain-bikes.com/en/product/bikes/enduro/tyee-cf/

5/21/2025 12:10am Looking at some tech randoms on some random site, I see the rotor does have engraving on the outer side while being installed this way. As you'd expect on a correctly installed rotor. I understand Brembo has quite a bit more history in designing brakes than I do, but I'd love to hear from the designer of this rotor. Last time I checked, physics applied to us all the same and the usual way to mount a rotor has a very good reason behind it.

5/19/2025 10:41am Fox knows that if you really want an USD fork you will deal with the hub issue one way or another. Can’t imagine an actual Fox USD fork customer saying “oh no nevermind I am obsessed with my current front hub and I am also too poor for a wheel build

5/19/2025 10:33am That is true, but Fox wouldn't have all build data on the website listed by serial number if it was still just a RAD project. The inverted Fox fork is going to be released.

5/18/2025 9:41am Couldn't that just be indications of tightening direction and torque spec? Fairly common on many linkage bolts across brands.

5/17/2025 12:50pm This has got to be the worst looking kit in existence. Who thought that accentuating Goldstone’s hips would look good? Got to be the exact same design as Tahnee’s been wearing

5/17/2025 3:33am Building mass dampers are designed to counteract the natural frequency of the structure (a known variable). Let my boy Grady explain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1U4SAgy60c The bike ones (at least to my knowledge) are design to counteract vibrations from the trail (an unknown variable). Maybe it could be tuned to the suspension telemetry for specific tracks? Look there is something there. But my point was when the implementation is so poor, it doesn't make you think they have this sorted. EDIT: sorry spomer, I was writing my dissertation and hit send before I saw you say to take it elsewhere.

5/15/2025 8:47am New coating as well on the stanchions. Doesn't look to be Kashima as there's an Ohlins logo engraved behind each one below the top crown

5/13/2025 3:55am Of course a long post typed on my phone gets eaten by the system... Testing brakes as they came is the only logical way of doing it. If they come with different pads within the manufacturer, that's how it is. If they were to test with a spec rotor and pad, which one? Why the one you say and not some other one? Should they test all of them available on the market? Even the aliexpress ones? See the issue? Also, said test was not aimed at this thread. Brakes are, as anything these days, being sold as a system...

5/13/2025 3:44am When Ohlins made their first push into the Mtb industry they had an exclusive deal with Specialized. Seems like it worked out well for both brands so why not take the same approach for Brembo?

5/8/2025 2:15am getting the rsc lever will only polish the turd, still a very meh brake will be and at a big expense, i'd rather pair the calipers with some Tech 4 masters if you really want to change levers only. Better brakes will definitely improve your riding experience. and don't be lazy either install the new lines it's a 5/10min job depending on the bike, on the first pages of this discussion there's some reccomendations based on budget and lever feel you're after but any of the options other than Lewis are solid, for what you're riding i'd go for the...

5/7/2025 2:34pm Sam Hill said... SRAM didn’t even return an email or phone call when he was try to put a bike together most recently. Seems pretty disrespectful to athletes (and champs) that helped push your products for many years. It’s one thing to not resign a rider. It’s another to just ghost them like they never existed!

5/7/2025 2:29pm We really, really need to bring the hammer down on this IP theft. Not only are they stealing ideas and patents from people who have spent good r&d money on developing their ideas, they haven't done the r&d, so there's far less understanding of the decisions that led to the original design. It's wholly unsafe and not to be mistaken for simply reverse engineering existing components. I don't understand why they can't just make new stuff???

5/7/2025 10:18am are these not just TRP Evo Pro brakes in black? judging by the lever and bite adjust screws... and well... the exact shape of the lever body. With all due respect to Mitch, I HIGHLY doubt he's a part of Ohlins/Brembo "test riders" when the only ones we've seen in the athlete space are Specialized Gravity.

5/6/2025 9:44am I’ve been disappointed with transmission AXS. Two GX derailleur warranties with the usual ‘we’ve never seen that but here’s a good faith replacement’ spiel, when I know from others the same issues are occurring. SRAM had a firmware update early on to give more range to adjust the centreline over the ref sprocket, but even then many of their derailleurs seem to be enough out of spec that it’s not enough - I’ve checked on hubs and dropouts that are bang on specifications. As you say, the shifting is slow, and the ability for the user or mechanic to make...

5/6/2025 9:35am Best value proposition is either brands 11sp drive trains. They worked incredibly well, they are different, one clunked and one was smoother, but they are very reliable, less prone to indexing faults than either 12sp, and so much cheaper. If you want value 12sp the only option is Shimano mix/match. Unfortunately an equivalent Sram drivetrain is almost double the price of a shimano one currently, so from a value perspective it simply cant be competitive
