Zink Bikes is dropping a new 27.5” model, I have no clue on geo and specs but this is what I’ve gleamed from ocbikeworks on Insta so far. “150 travel and it’s possible to run 26” in the back, but all the material shared with us suggests it’s meant for 27.5 without any mods. $1650 retail for the frame.” And like all shops they hook up the discount on parts to build it up. Has me intrigued for sure.

Not to be overtly political, but the US’s once and future president has indicated he intends to impose significant tariffs on foreign manufactured goods. Let’s assume for discussion that this actually happens -- anyone care to conjecture what effect such a policy would have on this industry?

The Vaia features floating bushings. That should make the biggest differnce other then ridefeel. Would be interesting for sure!

I don't think so.. SC can't be doing the volume that Trek and SBC are doing with the low end MTBs, hybrids and kids bikes..SC is more of a mainstream boutique company that focuses more on the higher end of things, Also, Trek and SBC have road lines where Pon relies on Cannondale and Cervelo for that.. Cannondale would be closer to Trek and SBC than SC as they are generally viewed as #4 in the US market..

Why am I sharing this, and why might another rider want to read this? I'm a (modestly) credentialed, (modestly) working scientist with no present affiliation to the any part of the bike industry. Teaching quantitative reasoning and technical communication skills is the lion's share of what I do for work. I'm not a 'sci-comm' professional trying to drive attention toward a podcast about bikes or a bike youtuber trying to grab attention by deploying keywords like data or science. I don't have a vested interest in either bike setup being faster than the other. So let this be my attempt...

Meh, I don't want to be reductive of their statements nor my lackluster reading comprehension but it seemed like a top to bottom nothing burger and where it gets some points in the 'we arent siphoning money from PE sources with no ability to pay them back and massively generating debt'... The life of the current gen range is super interesting. Came out of nowhere kinda received no end of praise but it was never going to be a bike that racers actually used in enduro. Super heavy and squishy. Maybe the existence of the shore at the same time hurt its overall sales since you could buy a squish monster from the same brand for cheaper. Personally I thought it was the best rampage ever!!! Except the wind. Would've been nice to see more second runs. Also the broadcast was what 9 hrs?
