Scott rarely sells frame sets and if they do it's usually limited edition in small numbers and for a price that is hardly worth it over just buying a fully built bike...

I listened to a PB podcast recently and they commented on this (fair play to them), said they didn't know about it and learnt in their own comments. Said they'd have to comment and potentially add disclosure etc. Admitted it was embarrassing that Cycling tips knew and they didn't. Made bold statements about handing in their notices if ever influence was exerted on editorial. Still doesn't look great.

Have a look at the consolidation of bike industry media now under the Outside umbrella - all the way down to the trade journal BRAIN. With PB, cyclingtips and BRAIN, the Outside/Specialized interests control the key news sources for MTB, Road and the industry trade news itself. Of course the Outside CEO is not going to go hype Specialized blatantly - that would be ridiculous and citing that as the litmus test for acceptability is rather Trumpian. Subtle things can also shift the needle. Im not saying it's happening, but it's not that far fetched. Even little bias' matter when...

Compared to a DT Swiss FR 541 this is: 6 times as expensive, barely any lighter and definitley not any more durable. I honestly don't see any reason to buy one of these.
