We haven't upgraded the dropper yet. I think ultimately she needs shorter cranks which will give more clearance for the dropper. 170mm cranks for a 5 ft tall person is a bit absurd. We're able to make the 100mm stock dropper just barely work by moving the seat fairly far forward.

Ream the lower tube. You could get it to slide more smoothly (potentially). I have a feeling it was more likely related to that vs. forgotten grease from WolfTooth HQ, an easy excuse for a more serious issue. High end suspension shops should be able to help. Tolerances of the bushings/tubes are never 100% straight. I'm sure WolfTooth has since QC'd this issue and factored it into their heavy price tag More technical reasons to buy; +Able to adjust saddle angle (can't on OneUp or anything other than unreliable 9.8's)...now I see why WT added the 'weight penalty' barrel washer...

The Sid and the 2022 Pike are both fantastic forks but I don't think they have nearly the same progression as the 2023 Pike. Volume tokens were a necessity for me on the Sid and 2022 Pike. I ran the Pikes both at 130mm.

Love it! I have the same bike, well 9.8 XT, have had it since March this year and the more I ride it the more I like it. Wondering how you are getting along with the Pike (130mm?), did you ride the SID first and decide to change, or changed straight away? I'm thinking of changing to the Pike as the bike feels like it warrants slightly more fork. Hearing of harshness issues with the 23 Pike, which is keeping me on the fence, or perhaps I'll buy an older model.

I actually had a Top Fuel 8 prior to this, which originally came with the OEM Sid with the Rush damper. That fork performed really well damping wise but developed bushing play. I ended up getting a 2022 Pike Ultimate and ran that for the majority of 1200+ miles on that Top Fuel 8. With this new bike I went with the 2023 Pike and have noticed it being firmer (not sure I would call it harsh) on lower speed and medium chatter, but the support for big hits is significantly better than the 2022. I have still yet to...

Thanks! Just didn't like the idea of batteries on the bike and for me MTB is a way to get away from electronics (as much as possible). I also like having the shift feedback.
