Buddy of mine works for an mtb brand that did headset routing and they saw a noticeable dip in sales on these models. They’ve pivoted back on a newer model. Not sure if they’ve seen better success with that model but it will be interesting to see. My wife has a repeater and the headset routing has been a nightmare.

I think the point is: it's hard to tell much difference on a short section of blue flow trail. Imagine testing two skis with different flex patterns over a short section of a blue run. There's not enough information and it is of low applicability for the conditions where the variables matter.

To add to the thrread derailment, i recently got an Ochain and it definitely does something. The rear of the bike is almost completely silent now (even with stfubike there was still some slapping around) and all the little tugging on the pedals that you get accustomed to is gone, which you only really notice when it’s not there anymore. Did ochain solve world hunger, pedal kickback and chainslap all in one? No but it made my bike quieter and smoother, so it was worth the money in my books. on a raaw madonna with 36t DT 350 hubs

Would y'all want to see a 15-minute VitalMTB video with back-to-back testing on a section of brutal rocky chunder with different pedal kickback theories to see if the Ochain really works as advertised?

Why isn't Ed Masters listed under Pivot Factory or in the unknown part of the excel either? Is it announced that we would retire from racing?

At first glance it looks like pretty much all impacts would go through the IFP system until the IFP has bottomed out inside it's bore and then things would flow 100% through the shim stack. As long as the IFP can reset from its bottomed out position you'd be able to have access to that super light damping at any point unlike with a bypass. Whether that's for better or worse deep in travel, I'm not sure. In the automotive world Bilsteins are usually fantastic bang for your buck. I'd hope that would transfer over as well.

I'm not an engineer, but the Bilstein IFP damper design doesn't look position sensitive like Rockshox's Touchdown, which only acts in the first 10-20% of travel (IIRC). It looks like it's a speed sensitive thing for small displacement forces, although I don't know how the damper is smart enough to know when to run a large high speed displacement through the base valve vs. running only small high speed displacements through the IFP. If it works the way I think it works, it's supple for small impacts at every stage of the travel, even when you're already packed down (which...

I just replaced the Charger 3.0 in my Lyrik with an MRP Lift and it's a lot better. Pretty much bang in the middle on both LSC and R and dropped my spring rate by ~10%. The fork tracks better, rides high in it's travel and feel much better through my hands.

Thanks. I have my answer even though I didn't ask a very clear question. If you think of the video/test as HSC events, I was wondering the ochain took some getting used for descending LSC events like pumping the bike or berms. Sound like either no or you're fully adapted by the end of the first run. How much did you toggle back and forth on the degrees of float after the test? A lot of my trips might involve a day of uplift and day of long climbs. On the latter, I'm decently fit but also mid 40s and...
