Unless Dak left Mondraker to find a bigger paycheck I don't see how Greenland ending up there makes sense. Nukeproof sure, Atherton doing kinda his own thing you bet, but the only way I see Mondraker trading one out for the other is if Dak left and they could pickup Greenland for less or the same money.

Seems he follows Mondraker bikes..not the team. Assuming he followed them since his time on MS. He also follows MS Racing..the team..I also assume from his time racing with them. He also follows Unno bikes. Don't think we can read too much into these

In the case of Greenland this could be the right answer. He mentioned in am ig post from yesterday some thoughts about life quality and balance as well as doing different intersting things in life. I'm pretty shure he will quit the pure wc racing and be a freeride and hardline ambassador. Therefore Atherton could be the right place. Would love to see him stylin' the shit out of things.

Having a high profile rider does much more than “fuck all” for a team. Any squad with Vali Höll, 4-in-a-row World Champ, will get a wildcard invite. I just don’t know how she’s gonna get paid.

This is where the secondary ‘intangibles’ of being a ‘professional’ come in. Dak also has personality, a story, and some magnetism. Things that make him a good ambassador for your company beyond just results. Sure, some of the young guns are wicked fast, but outside of Asa, we really know nothing about them or who they are. The Alran’s aren’t drawing me into to Commencal the same way Dak might to Mondraker. At the end of the day you need good (enough) results but as long as that threshold is met, other things matter too. I guess my argument is...

Mondraker splitting up their team or not re-signing anyone would be a huge mistake. From outward appearances, they all get along well. All they need is an absence of bad luck, not even really good luck and they could have three top 5/10 riders next year. Ronan is already there currently. Dak has been there and all signs point to him climbing back once recovery is complete. Pinky has shown so many glimpses of brilliance and with just a tad more development should be there too. Keep them together and on a consistent program and they are 1 of only...

I hope not . Reece Wilson is an exciting rider to watch and was finding some form before injury, Monika Hrastnik has had a podium and Hattie has shown she has the pace and probably just needs more racing experience to put it all together. I would guess that you wouldn't put the effort into staring something like that then knock it on the head after a year .

FWIW all my chats with Orbea this year has been focused around them trying to make a bigger splash in the U.S. and Canada. They've added personnel, and I've been in contact with them about a few things to come in the future. Typically when a brand doesn't plan to sell something in the US, we don't get hit up to be apart of the coverage.

I'm British 🤣🤣🤣 Here's my logic - USDH is growing, then there's Canada too, plus of course other series seem to be growing (at least from what I can see from media). So if there's a truck going for a song as part of a fire sale, it makes sense - and nothing to prevent them flipping it a year down the line for more than they paid or even the same amount, meaning thry had a year's worth of pit truck & impressiv looking race presence FOC at worst.

Most teams don’t have their full setup in North American but rely on the local reps for support. At least as far as vehicles go. Tents can be easily shipped.

Yeah, I don't disagree. I unsubscribed from his YT channel earlier this year as I got tired of his presenting style and the videos increasingly becoming more about his dog than the riding. Having said that plenty of people seem to love it. FWIW I met him years ago and in the brief chat we had he seemed personable enough. I wish him no ill will, it's just not for me.

I think you’ve read into my post in a way it was never intended, in this instance disregard the people and the public’s opinion of their moral character. The saying goes win on Sunday sell on Monday.. pivot should want their bikes raced by people that are competitive and actually guaranteed an entry into the world cups.

Super boost and short chain stays would stop me from buying a Pivot before anything Bernard did.. I wouldn't date anyone that young, but I'm a lot older than he is.. We assume things are questionable, but laws are different everywhere. Sexual assault is a whole different thing..
