Why isn't Ed Masters listed under Pivot Factory or in the unknown part of the excel either? Is it announced that we would retire from racing?

At first glance it looks like pretty much all impacts would go through the IFP system until the IFP has bottomed out inside it's bore and then things would flow 100% through the shim stack. As long as the IFP can reset from its bottomed out position you'd be able to have access to that super light damping at any point unlike with a bypass. Whether that's for better or worse deep in travel, I'm not sure. In the automotive world Bilsteins are usually fantastic bang for your buck. I'd hope that would transfer over as well.

I'm not an engineer, but the Bilstein IFP damper design doesn't look position sensitive like Rockshox's Touchdown, which only acts in the first 10-20% of travel (IIRC). It looks like it's a speed sensitive thing for small displacement forces, although I don't know how the damper is smart enough to know when to run a large high speed displacement through the base valve vs. running only small high speed displacements through the IFP. If it works the way I think it works, it's supple for small impacts at every stage of the travel, even when you're already packed down (which...

I just replaced the Charger 3.0 in my Lyrik with an MRP Lift and it's a lot better. Pretty much bang in the middle on both LSC and R and dropped my spring rate by ~10%. The fork tracks better, rides high in it's travel and feel much better through my hands.

Shout out to the US open organizers for putting the last names in alphabetical order so I can actually find athletes I am looking for.

Thanks. I have my answer even though I didn't ask a very clear question. If you think of the video/test as HSC events, I was wondering the ochain took some getting used for descending LSC events like pumping the bike or berms. Sound like either no or you're fully adapted by the end of the first run. How much did you toggle back and forth on the degrees of float after the test? A lot of my trips might involve a day of uplift and day of long climbs. On the latter, I'm decently fit but also mid 40s and...

Lines holding bridges are not straight either, neither are lines holding cable cars yet they transfer lots of load. A chain has some degree of inertia too. Starling is generally fighting with a common wisdom that single pivot is not the best suspension design there is and it is in their interest to say that PK is not important in practice.

I guess I'm confused by your writing. You said the chain isn't straight so "the chain cannot pull on the chainring," but then in the next sentence you said "the chain is heavy and the oscillations of the chain create a pull on the chainring." Similarly in your top post you said "yes, ochain works, but no there is not a pedal kickback issue" but then in your second post you said "the pawl-less hub does exactly what ochain does." If the pawls of the hub are being engaged, that is pedal kickback, no? If a spinning hub is being...

My intention of suggesting a belt drive isn't the quietness of it, I suspect it moves around less than a chain does as it is lighter (per length) and also a lot more damped (rubber and all), so I think it should pull on the pedals by thrashing around less too.

Regarding clutch off and feedback from the chain slapping around... One bike, Pinion gearbox and a chain vs. belt comparison incoming?

I thought the start list was done on the basis of UCI rankings. The UCI currently show Falquet's ranking as 5th and Max Alran in second, behind Vermette and in front of Jewett. Anyone know why the starts don't tally?
