I think the issue is not being able to establish what the problem is because your riding isn’t consistent enough and therefore you don’t actually know what you are trying to fix. No one wants to try to problem solve a problem that they can’t even read. You shooting in the dark, unsure about the validity of potential solutions, and potentially don’t understand the complicated relationship between all the systems so you might actually end up fucking something up terribly. It’s not surprise many people don’t want to tinker.

I'll be honest, 15% is pretty low. Not V1 Sentinel low but getting there. Definitely down in the "huh" range. The only way I'd ever expect to get that to not bottom out in the parking lot with a coil is run practically no sag or run an unreasonable amount of damping. I had a V2 Hightower as a personal bike for a bit. It was significantly more progressive with a little more travel and a little more shock stroke to work with. Side point, but after talking to a number of brands and shops, one thing keeps standing out: e-MTB is no longer a side quest (even if you aren't amflow). I know this is a big "duh" to those in Europe, but for me (a long time analog bike guy) its a stark reminder things have changed. I have three brands telling me off the record e bikes drive over half the company's revenue. I feel bad already about cluttering tech rumors with a politics post. Lets leave it here and I'll let someone make/revive a politics thread if they want to bitch more. In terms of thermoplastic vs epoxy carbon and the repair of frames, are carbon repairers able to work with thermoplastic? There are two carbon repairers in my city that do excellent work on bikes. All fairly affordable and straightforward. What happens if I approach them with a broken thermoplastic carbon frame? Ignoring theoretical repairability, is it currently practical/possible to fix?

Long time lurker, first time poster here. For some background I’m an aerospace composites engineer and spent several years in Advanced Product Development with an emphasis on environmentally friendly materials. There’s so much to get into on this topic and if folks are interested I’d love to start a dedicated thread on materials and environmental impacts. The TLDR is, carbon fiber as a green product on its own is a fallacy. If you haven’t already, check out Vital’s latest PIT BITS for a quick overview of Reece’s particular setup. While there is a lot of interesting tech on Reece’s bike, one defining feature is the prototype raised reversed stem manufactured by Be More Bikes. Reece combines this stem with high rise bars to create a tall stack with reduced reach. This allows Reece to extend at the hips more, creating a tall, upright riding posture. Gas Gas had the right idea with the moto-inspired replaceable plastics kits for their ECC ebikes. How many carbon frames become landfill waste from rock strikes or crashes where a sacrificial "fairing" could have taken the blow? If the industry wants to improve durability, this is the right place.
