Far be it from me to suggest a new thread to the person who suggests new threads, but I’d personally love to see some of the bizarro crap that ends up in front of your eyeballs, Spomer. ‘Uncle gordo’s Inbox’, perhaps? *edit to correct Gordon to gordo

Yeah them saying its just a prototype and absolutely nothing more I dont believe. There is a reason it was on like 10 different bikes at sea otter. Also, having made moulds for the carbon leg-guards, rather than using an already existing diameter of carbon tube seems expensive. And some of the plastic bits looked injection moulded, not 3d-printed. So it seems like there is a lot invested for something allegedly not being planned for production. I believe some people here in the thread said June release for this fork. Looking at how buttoned up it looks, does not seem...

In the meantime, I have an incoming factory order of a couple thousand mtb pants that are going to be hit with an additional 26% tariff, for 53.9% total import tax. India. That would be all fine and good, if: 1: I thought consumers would be wiling to pay 26% more. LOL. 2: Tariffs would hold at 53.9%. They won't, so I'll be in a permanent hole on this year's inventory. These import taxes will roll away within a few months. Businesses need a predictable environment in which to operate. If I knew the tariffs would actually be permanent and...

Allow me to express my enthusiastic support for not debating tax rates here. One of my favorite things about this thread is that we have people from all sides of the political spectrum talking about politics at a very deep level by mostly staying out of the incendiary stuff- tax rates, redistribution, economic philosophy, etc, the stuff that Jeff described as " value debates that will never (ever) work on a screen." If we can stay focused on the economic factors that directly impact the bike industry, I hope we can continue having this wonderful and productive conversation across our...

As a lifelong bike industry head I have been apprehensive about contributing to this forum topic, despite the conversation quite often being interesting, informed and high level, as it felt morbid to discuss the potential job loss of friends, colleagues and acquaintances. While I don't think I am going to reduce the angst of the thread as I sit here reading industry news early on a Saturday morning after another anxious nights sleep, I will take the opportunity to bring things back around to the bike business. I think this article brings home some of the potential immediate effects of...

haha you are right and I am sorry, I didn't mean to derail the thread so much. All I really wanted to do was defend Enduro as I agree with a lot that has been said above, it's mainly a perception issue, so I am trying to shift perception and bring some positivity into the discipline. That was the reason for the Jack/Sram comment and trying to make it less about Sram pulling Enduro funding, and also the Chris Ball comment, which did not go over well, but that one I'll accept and I will keep trying with him. I'll...

There are a few people who I eagerly await pre-season race footage of, top of the list is Loic and based on his recent story I'd say we aren't disappointed. New/Raw brake calipers, possibly uncovered rear shock finally, new chainstay, new/kinked seat tube? There's too much and yes I am hoping someone posts the screenshots for me.

To be fair, it's also possible that competitively priced and highly specialized manufacturing will pop up in the U.S. at enormous scale with armies of knowledgable, specialized non-immigrant workers in the next month to save us from these high costs. That's all we need. Well, that and in-country raw material extraction for materials that often don't exist in our borders in the quantities we need, like bauxite, rubber, lithium, cobalt, rare earth elements, etc. But if we can figure out those two aspects in the next month we'll be fine.

Unfortunately it's an aluminium frame, so not many options for repair. There is a carbon repair place fairly close to me and I know a couple of people who have had great service from them. I have some carbon frames on the shortlist as a result. Image of the the crack below, spotted mid ride on a snack break, on route to hit some jumps. Pretty sure things wo ld have got a lot worse if I had made it to the jumps without noticing.
